Think Nieve still has it cos he chased down and passed a former GT winner and did about 60-70km solo that day.

Kiryienka's is just as, if not more satisfying in the wake of the week that preceded it. Going to be such a good victory.

Climbing performance of the season so far is still Therese Johaug on Alpe Cermis though ;)

This has been a slightly disappointing stage, but no taking away from Vasil, this has been an amazing ride and I am shaking with nerves as he's coming in.

edit: not to take anything from Betancourt either - this has been a coming of age like Urán in the 2009 Tour de France. 21 years old, first Grand Tour, and on the penultimate stage he's ahead of the favourites bunch! He was with them until the lower slopes of Fedaia last weekend too.

Contador in trouble?? He looked like he was struggling to get on Kruijswijk's wheel after that corner.

Rujano was 3:50 behind Kiryienka on the top of the Finestre. Too bad he is such a bad descender (and his weight doesn't help him).

That's how you pronounce the Z in Spanish, actually.
While that is likely true, what bothers me is that he doesn't pronounce all the names in their indigenous incantation. Just strikes me as pretentious.

Rujano losing time, but drops Betancourt. Would be good to see the 21 year old get 3rd though.

I wondered that too, but he's basically chilling.

Someone needs to attack from the gruppo magila rosa so we can see if Contador is really suffering.

What an absolutely incredible performance by Kiryienka. He must have been saving energy the last few days, which could explain why he can climb faster than anyone in the peloton despite having been in a breakaway for 230 km.
