Italian sprinter who come up on Italian u23 teams and win a ton of flat crits are usually worse. Jakub, Pelucchi, Guardini...

Jokes aside, Ackermanns climbing has become insane. Maybe UAE should really start to set him up like Matthews in the future trying to rip up medium mountain stages with a sprint at the end.

He was already climbing really well when he won Eschborn-Frankfurt back in 2019, he has always been a surprisingy capable climber.

But he was great in the heat and actually became really good at crosswinds racing, if you look at his results in the now defunct Tour of Quatar.
His climbing sucked, but the guy knew how to handle windy conditions.
