Hopefully Landa will be unleashed, but it seems unlikely. He was the fastest rider on the climb yesterday. It's a bit sad if he never gets the chance to ride himself full out in this Giro because he has to protect Aru.

according to jens' blog, the fatest riders on Monte Ologno are Contador and Ryder.

The problem for Landa yesterday is that when he caught the group there was little point pushing on on his own (unless he could bridge) as he would have been on his own of descent and final flat or wait for group

That was the risk... but maybe he could have caught Hesjedal before Hesjedal caught Contador, maybe, but Landa is not a super descender and with tha lastflat part is would be useless to be alone....

It is good to save energy for today, but just if today he is allowed to split everything in the first climb. And I think is not...

Don't discount Visconti. 51 points and climbing pretty well, or as Kelly would say 'real good performance'.

I just hope Betancur does not focus too much on the KOM jersey and waste all his energy by sprinting for every point, if he takes the stage victory he will have enough points to win the maglia azzura I guess.

Geschke and Frapporti were dropped when Betancur came to the front.

Androni were chasing for a while, don't know who is now. Them and Bardiani especially will be eager to bridge on the first climb I guess.

Well Betancur is in there. I was going to pick Kiryenka tomorrow, so I'll have to rethink that. It looks hard going, although that is a strong break.

It depend on the wind it hight or it is normal.

Anyway when breaks are not allowed the average is always hight.
