Tomorrow, i feel that the Hesjedal show and Canondale Garmin will begin... He said after the stage that he was feeling really good and he was at the back of the peloton when Astana increased up the speed at the front. I believe he has the legs to reach the podium at the end of this Giro if he attacks.

Eh this climb isn't that bad, there's a part of 7-8km at 7,8%.

If i were astana i would force Contador in the jersey.
But Berto never loses the leader's jersey in a GT :p

Uh... Riiiiiight.

Unless it's the 2010 TDF and the 2011 Giro.

I do believe those jerseys have most definitely been removed from his shoulders.

LOL

and LOL again!!

That response is stupid. I'm sure you understood what she meant.

This finish suits Porte and he will take the stage, with Contador moving into pink.

They should race this stage hard; take further time out of Uran if possible.

If the GC guys do race it hard I think Aru will come out on top. He and his team are looking very sharp.

Roman K puts up to pink after the stage. :D

I haven't checked but surely no team has ever had four leaders in five days of a Grand Tour. Would be pretty cool to see Chaves take pink.

I think it's possible. GE obviously have put a lot of thought into the first week and after seeing them dominate the first week in the past two Giros I think some of the second tier teams will be paying more attention to the TTT. That win set them up perfectly with the team they have and if you have not got a leader for the overall it's all about stage wins and the Pink. Changing over the jersey between team mates would only increase team morale and they are obviously a happy team even when they are not winning. They are team that race for each other unlike some others. As for Tinkoff. If Riis was there the tactics would be much different instead of verging on the bizarre.

They shouldn't race this stage hard because unlike yesterday the lead up to the end features less climbing. It was only raced hard yesterday because Kreuziger was in the break. This won't be raced hard. The final climb may be, but by that stage I would say the break have an advantage.

The break will probably have 5 minutes at the base of the climb. That will be enough for someone to hold on even if Astana decide to chase hard on the climb, which I don't think they will do because none of the GC riders will be able to gap their rivals on the climb. Uran will be able to hold on and even if he gets dropped he'll be able to get himself back on the easy section at the top of the climb.

If anyone rides the final climb tempo wise it will be Movistar to set it up for Visconti.

I feel like Visconti might try getting into the break again. Ulissi could be a real danger here if the break is within reach on the final climb. Regarding Monsalve, he was pretty strong yesterday, right? He finished with the front group even though he wasn't in the break, right?

Yeah, Visconti will try and get in the break but if he doesn't Movistar will chase if they don't have anyone there. Ulissi should as well unless Lampre want to set it up for him.

Visconti went for a recce ride on the final climb last week.
An area that he knows pretty well, as he lives nearby.
Besides, he is definitely feeling good these days... if the race allows, I'm definitely expecting him to attack.

I think if we get any more than 10km of action among the GC boys, we are very lucky.

But this stage in this part of the Giro is ideally placed. I hope for a strong break, with riders such as Niemiec, Ruben Fernandez, Hesjedal and Cunego, Izagirre.

Something to make the domestiques of Astana and Tinkoff have to work again. I want these boys very tired in Week 3, so we can have chaos and carnage in the Dolomites.

Yeah I don't see any of the overall favourites putting in big attacks because it's a bit early to be wearing pink, plus the profile of the climb means a decent sized group crossing the line together. Any selection will be from off the back.

I hope Chaves keeps jersey in team today ..in order to do so a breakaway win controlled by OGE is bet bet ...If a breakaway my money is on Movistar or Cannondale/Garmin

The smart move for TCS (which they won't do) would be to put Kreuz in the jersey if breakaway caught on/or before final climb

Richie Porte will try & win stage so expect SKY to chase breakaway so TCS should not chase IMO and keep guys fresh

Astana will keep powder dry till last and then come out to play when both SKY & TCS depleted ..(smarter move)
