Why does this have to be in a Friday? Gonna sit in a particle physics seminar until 1600. They're probably past Sestriere until I'm home
Let them know your p, you'll be able to watch entire broadcast in that case.
... Or. at least, try to make a joke about the principle to let you go. Be inventive.

That's nothing. I had a workshop during the stage to Risoul, Giro 2016 when Nibs and the snow bank turned the race upside down. Got the info on the mobile from this wonderful forum and the CN ticker. Thing is I had a Dutch guy who was busier than me during the workshop but I made sure to keep him up to date. Needless to say he didn't have a particularly fun afternoon.

I'm not sure who is going to win, but I feel confident that Yates will be out of the pink jersey this time tomorrow. And like you other suckers, I'll be keeping up at work via this thread.

Sneak out!
That is an attitude I cannot endorse

Don't go in the first place.

You're right Red Rick.
Sestriere, all you need to do is convince the people of the seminar that watching cycling can help you learn about particle physics.

You might have to get a bit creative...

I wonder if Yates is beginning to regret gifting four seconds to Chaves earlier on.
In my opinion there are two possibilities.
1.) This was just a bad day and tomorrow he'll be back to the level he had earlier in the race. In that case he'll win anyway
2.) He is really fading and the time he lost on two kilometers today is an indicator for how much he'll lose in the coming days. In that case he is gonna lose pink anyway.
Ofc there is the theoretic chance that this might have cost him the giro victory but that's extremely unlikely.

Work has screwed me and I'm so excited for this as a stage T_T

I hope it delivers for you all
Yeah, i can't watch it either.
...same here  ...the stage is set for an epic stage.

I 'win' this one. I have to work until 9:30. I have a subscription to the Eurosport Player, so you would say I at least could watch it 'as live' in the evening BUT my girlfriend comes home friday evening after she has been abroad for a week, and will be leaving again saturday afternoon, so you can imagine she needs and deserves my full attention. Basically I can watch the friday stage during the final of the saturday stage...

It's probably a mix.

He's not gonna drop everyone easily and win by minutes, but while the trend is going downwards, today was still under expectation on that trend.

Dumoulin's attack completely fried him. That hurt. Dumoulin couldn't really take turns afterward with Pozzo and Froome either.

I don't buy that the climb didn't suit him. It was either an off-day or he was just bluffing.

Pozzovivo was there with Froome and Dumoulin. And you'll expect him to be worse than Yates on "time trial climbs".

Second time today that I read smilar non sense: he was bluffing.

Who would be so dumb to lose half a min in GC on purpose (out of 56 secs)???????
For what advantage? Convince all the opponents that he is beatable? That he can be attacked and they should try as much as possible? Yes. Very smart.

I think I will repeat Valverde's comment about Nibali getting a handful of time bonus seconds over him at the 2016 Giro when he didn't know they were up for grabs. "The final time gaps will be larger than those handful of seconds. If I loose the Giro by 4 seconds I will have made much bigger mistakes than this." I think that is fitting for this as well.

Thanks, a good summary of my thoughts. Based upon what we have seen as of today we don't really know which is the correct answer. We will all be kept in suspense until tomorrow.

I also think Lopez might continue to rise above the GC pack.

Nice that the Giro ends with a mountainous sting in its tail of multiple mountain stages. The 2018 edition is adding to the mystique of the Giro d'Italia !

I will be away for the whole day. When I get home, Eurosport Player and chill. Those images of Finestre, looks like it could be grueling. Powerful riders are better generally on gravel because of traction, but then again it's steep as hell. We'll just have to wait and see.

Decent article and some pictures of the state of the Finestre ahead of tomorrow's stage.

This doesn't really have anything to do with the racing, but looking at these pictures I really hope no fans will get injured tomorrow. Usually there are thousands of fans standing where there is still snow this year and at some of these spots you don't want to slip.

What I took from it is the Gravel top seems very very wet, and may impact the stage tomorrow, its more cyclocross than Strade Bianchi from those pictures.
