I wonder if Dumoulin is wishing he'd have done a bit more to put Froome out of contention when the chances were there, in the first week.
Pointless discussion. Nobody expects Froome to pull a staight up Saunier Duval performance after not dropping anyone outside of super steep climbs since 2015.
Not sure about that. There were quite a lot of posts earlier in the week about how they should be doing more to bury Froome. Him doing a Nibali was always on the cards. Perhaps this is a bit too ridiculous to foresee though.

Nobody could have foreseen this. I almost can't believe it even now. And I'm one of the few people in the forum actually rooting for Froome.

Best scenario for Dumoulin would be if he and MAL drop the others on the final climb.

He wont be able to follow the accelerations from Lopez and Carapaz. They should be feeling a lot better after just sitting on the wheel for this long.

Tom just gonna have to take his tempo and hope Froome fades

I can only hope Pinot holds the 2 leeches for 3rd
Why would they help tho?
The real question is why is Pinot still working? Pozzovivo is out of the picture now. Pinot should be riding solely against Dumoulin and Lopez right now.
I agree with that. It made sense for Pinot to work earlier to distance Pozzovivo. At this point, Pinot's main adversary is Lopez.

Yeah, he should also just ride for podium now and make Dumo do all the work.

Yes and look at Lopez letting a gap to force Pinot to bridge, what a b*sta*d, this isn't going to end well !

That last climb is going to carnage, like Joux Plane 2006 I'm guessing, that was already pretty impressive with everyone glued to the road, Kloden comes to mind, paced by Guerini and Mazzolini...Landis had lost quite some time too, could still happen to Froome.
