I didn't, uff, if yes, I hope it was the reason to lose these ca 20 sec. Go my Warrior!bigcog said:Froome saying he got held up at critical point in last km which is why he lost time, didn't see it, did anybody else ?

Froome has even won these kind of finishes. I remember when Froome won the stage to La Planche des Belles Filles in the 2012 Tour on an even tougher finish. Not looking good for him or Sky at this point.

Froome never was too convincing on those types of finishes, probably why he dodged the Ardenne classics. But still by his standards it's not good. The big question is if it's his form in general or the result of the crash ? He needs to at least finish with the front group on Etna.
So it looks like it wasn't so funny.Valv.Piti said:Very nice stage. I wonder how many times Lopez are going to be horrible on these kind of finishes for commentators to understand thats his actual level on stages like this, even in great shape. My favourite for Etna.
Funny to see Froome being this bad. First the prologue, now this. Very slow, but steady decline.. for some reason I think he focused even more on endurance and sustained power this season, thats the vibe Im getting for him. Couple that with a later peak and this is what you get.. I think he will be one of the best in the 3rd week in the mountains, maybe the best, but I definitely don't think he should be considered the favourite anymore. That title belongs to Tom.
Some of the same tomorrow and then Etna. Nice trifecta of stages on Sicilia, good job.
You would have to be a bit more specific...Bot. Sky_Bot said:So it looks like it wasn't so funny.Valv.Piti said:Very nice stage. Of course, if he really had some troubles in last km.Valv.Piti said:You would have to be a bit more specific...Bot. Sky_Bot said:So it looks like it wasn't so funny.Valv.Piti said:Very nice stage. Lopez was brought to a standstill in that Zeits crash otherwise he would probably have finished with the other GC contendersValv.Piti said:Very nice stage. I think this was one of his few victories(the only one?) not coming from an attack.Pantani_lives said:Wellens looked pretty impressive. I wasn't sure if he would be explosive enough for that finish today. Going with the mini attack in the penultimate km was a good idea, so he didn't have to fight for a good position. For his international recognition this is a great step. He's winning more often than he used to. Moreover he knows now that he can perform in hot weather as well.

His list of wins is becoming impressive.

He didn't look bad to me. In fact if we consider that he had a mediocre showing in the preparation races to the Giro this result is actually encouraging IMHO.Arnout said:Uff Chaves didn’t look great, in great for, he should be with the best here. Been some time since he was at the cutting edge.
