He didn't work though, it was all Hamilton then Hindley

well, yes, that's why I wrote 'in hindsight'. he probably would have worked then.

unless, of course, he was offered a deal and said no, but it didn't look like it

Tao wouldn't make a deal he is going to destroy Wilco in week 3

He's nearly 3 minutes behind him and Kelderman has a strong team. Barring a crash for Kelderman, he's got feck all chance imo.

Also another TT so Keldermans puts time in there anyway

The saddest thing about Kelderman looking very likely to win a gt right now is that it isn't even looking like he is in the shape of his life or anything. Hindley and Geoghegan Hart were both looking clearly stronger and if you told me before the race Kelderman was gonna get outclimbed by those two I would have said, well too bad, no top 10 for him then.

Curious why Knox was so desperate to sprint one more second for his teammates' rivals. Always don't understand his tactics. He has been learning for 3 years.

This Giro really is as if someone drew a caricature of 2020.

Embarrassing stage. Even the #1 favourite of the race (Kelderman) was unable to do anything in the end, you could tell Hindley pushed him to the limit.

The level is pretty bad, current Froome or even retired Contador would like their chances against such a terrible field.

Gutsy performance by Almeida, great ride by Hindley, thought he looked better than Kelderman. The shark got stuck on a sand bank. Almeida doing more face contortions than Voeckler and Alaphilippe combined but it worked for him ! Another stage for Ineos.

If TGH loses a spot on the podium by the few seconds he wasted by celebrating 5 seconds early today I suspect he will regret it. What's with all the excessive premature showboating going on this year!?

If it was just Kelderman and he had a weak team, sure, but not sure how you put that much time into Sunweb who have Hindley, Oomen and Hamilton to chase down Hart if he does anything crazy.

finishing 8th out of the favorites in a mountain stage is a good day for Bilbao
Usually yes, but look at the quality of the field. 2020 is such a wacky year, no Idea if we can make too many conclusions from the gts that we have this year.

Piancavallo delivered, it was a massacre by Sunweb. Kindley was so strong - man of the day. Still Kelderman couldn't finish off his work. Kudos to Almeida, who knows he might've just won the Giro. Disappointed with Nibali.

Worst GC field form in the last 15 years?

I'm waiting for climbing times, but it seems like the 2020 is an inflection point in matters not related to this subforum.

"Almeida struggling" "Almeida barely survives" they say while the kid makes 4th, keeping the maglia and gaining 1 minute over other sharks when everyone said he would lose minutes today. The kid probably won't win but it's his first GT and you should remember his name.

Exactly this! I posted something along those lines in his thread. Its actually mind boggling how people forget that he is only 22, a neo pro and riding his first ever GT. He finished the stage in 4th place for crying out loud and distanced A LOT of the riders who (according to this forum) were supposed to put minutes into him.
