I hope the two Austrians are aware they are not in the lead group and just hang onto Almeida to drift into top10.

No way. I couldn't possibly disagree more strongly. This is probably Hindley's one chance in his life to win a GT, you don't give that up.
Thats why I wrote - unpopular opinion. And I definitely get it. But Kelderman has limited his losses well in the last kilometers, has 2:41 on Hindley and 2:42 on Tao with a ITT still to come. Hindley actually has to distance Tao by more than 1 minute if he wants to stay ahead of him in the final stage.

Kelderman has taken back some crucial time in the descent, I'm guessing Dennis drills it until the climb now

Almeida holding is own on the descent. He's clearly some way off in climbing but he still looks like keeping his head cool instead of panicking and throwing everything out the window.

Really proud to see him go down fighting like this

I think Ineos figures they have it in the bag (yes, I said it!), and taking it easy on the descent.

No he doesn't need a minute, it's a last stage, pan flat 15km TT. Fatigue matters more than TT ability. Dumoulin back in 2017 took 1.10 off Quintana, but that was twice the length. Hindley won't lose more than 40s.

Edit: Hindley lost just over 2 seconds a kilometre in a much tougher TT in the middle of the race. I doubt that will double

He may yet make the podium, would be an incredible feat.

Almeida doing a good descent here too. He just has to absolutely empty himself on the final climb, and recover tomorrow.

I still dont understand why they havent ridden Stelvio since 2005 (They obviously have, but not from side side). Its just a whole different beast to the weak sauce from the other side

Have what in the bag?

They are riding for GC, not just the stage win, so putting time into Kelderman is important!

There's a flat part after the descent where they will increase the gap again, and if TGH is stronger today (which he seems), he can take time on the final climb too. They don't need to take 5 minutes off Kelderman.
