Really, it's all about Remco today. He could have had peak Cancellara as his helper today and he'd have been in the same position I think.
It was always the legs. He's not great on the gravel but that skill or lack thereof is overrated. I've raced on the gravel a ton this year. If you're strong, you're strong on the gravel too. Sure, there are some that are a bit less comfortable but if you've got the legs it's not usually the cause of huge time losses.Interested to see how Evenepoel goes in the last climb, is it physically a bad performance or just the nerves of sterrato?
