"We hoped for an improvement in the weather and tried to do the whole stage but looking at the forecasts for the high mountains they could get worse."
"The Passo Giau is still set to be raced in the hope the weather improves during the day."
Then he needs to *** stand his ground instead of being a pushover.Interview with Vegni where he basically confirms that the route was raceable and that the shortening is on the initiative of the riders.
I haven't slept the whole night 'cause it's never sure I can wake up on time.Well I was up at 4AM so I guess I'm a bit let down. But looking forward to seeing a race soon!
It kills the possibility of anyone ever doing the double. I know it's highly unlikely to ever happen as is, but the dream is there...Why not just hold it a month later in June? Very few riders do Giro and Tour.
Everyone knows that Vegni can be pushed after last year, unfortunately. Then he needs to *** stand his ground instead of being a pushover.
The way they skip everything they're clearly all horseysThe Bishop Stage.
Vegni is a spineless coward, that's one of the main problems. Then he needs to *** stand his ground instead of being a pushover.
Just swaping giro and vuelta would solve this problem?
Gavia was scrapped in 2019 too, so second time actually. In any case, with a competent race director Dolomites stages would very rarely require alteration due to the weather.Move the Giro lol
This is the first time a mountain stage has been altered since 2013. That year they just happened to have ridiculous bad weather and Valmartello was cancelled but Jafferau, Galibier and Tre Cemi (albeit an adapted route) all three were done in the snow.
Last year the Agnello stage was altered because of the French, not because of the weather.
The riders know how pathetic this looks.
The Knight Stage? The way they skip everything they're clearly all horseys
If he has access to the same information we have and knows the majority of the riders want to race, their should be no discussion! Its his job!Everyone knows that Vegni can be pushed after last year, unfortunately.
Any alterations to Bernal's favor aren't conducive to an interesting final week.It will become a more explosive stage now. Bernal must be happy.
