I only just heard the bad news.
It's the same thing every year: dry during the cobbled classics, wet during the Dolomite stages in the Giro. This was the only stage with more than one really tough climb, absolutely essential for a GT. Stages with multiple big climbs are the greatest thing in cycling, but in the past ten years most of them have been cancelled, neutralized or shortened down. I'm not sure if we'll ever get to see another truly epic mountain stage. It seems to be something from a bygone era.
