Probably the easiest Giro in years. Outside of the gravel stage it’s been soft pedaled. Should go for the doubleBernal in this form can take on the Slovenians. He did not look tired at the finish
Yates needs to get over his infatuation with the Giro. The conditions are way too unpredictable for a guy who apparently hates the cold wet days. He’s wasted 3 years chasing pink as his primary goal of the season.Such a shame for him and the race that the Yates hates these conditions.
Hoping for something like decent weather later in the week so he can maybe make a bid for the podium
I think that if Remco is not suffering from chronic issues at the site of his injury and is otherwise not hurt, then this Giro can be a good experience. It gets some racing in the legs and shows him where he is, and where he needs to improve.Honestly Remco should have been at Andalucia. Than again it keeps his ego in check
So youre telling me you dont want to win a few more iconic stage wins if the opportunity presents itself because it will give him 1% more in September? Hopefully riders like Egan doesnt think like that.Nowadays, there is no need. Vuelta is becoming much more important.
100% the ego to think he could win a GT after zero prep. Contador or Froome wouldn’t do that at their peaksTaking a real beating might be better for him in the long run. Now please don't send him to the Vuelta, shorter stage races and one day races during the 2nd part of the season is the way to go.
Such a shame for him that Bernal's riding this race...Such a shame for him and the race that the Yates hates these conditions.
Hoping for something like decent weather later in the week so he can maybe make a bid for the podium
Bernals ego is getting a bit in his head; i hope this *** in the end bites him in the ass
I doubt anyone can do the double after such a rainy Giro, it's gonna take a toll on your body.Probably the easiest Giro in years. Outside of the gravel stage it’s been soft pedaled. Should go for the double
Remco would still be on the Pordoijust imagine the carnage it would have been had the stage gone as originally planed.....
congrats to Egan- he was meant to win it
i doubt it, the race is only as hard as riders make it to be,,,if the stage was in original length we would have seen just more Ineos at the front and the action would start just where it started anywayjust imagine the carnage it would have been had the stage gone as originally planed.....
congrats to Egan- he was meant to win it
Maybe? But you have to question whether Yates has the fortitude to fight through it when his form or the weather conditions aren't as he'd want them. Of course by his standards this wasn't a spectacular explosion at all. That could easily come on one of the next mountain stages though.Such a shame for him and the race that the Yates hates these conditions.
Hoping for something like decent weather later in the week so he can maybe make a bid for the podium
In 2016 it wasn't the last climbIf they managed to inform us right when Bernal was on top of the Giau, he climbed it in ~32min, 1.30 faster than they did in 2016. The shorter stage probably helped a lot.
Yes, really underwhelming field this year and the total lack of excitement, the crashes and the injuries, Breakaways winning a multitude of stages even in the first weeks, the lack of tv coverage, the shortened queen stage, nah, not a Giro to remember fondly, Only Bernals brilliance is a saving graceProbably the easiest Giro in years. Outside of the gravel stage it’s been soft pedaled. Should go for the double
I know, that's why you have to put things in perspective. In 2016 it wasn't the last climb
Yes the Vuelta looks a better race for him as has proved in the past.Yates needs to get over his infatuation with the Giro. The conditions are way too unpredictable for a guy who apparently hates the cold wet days. He’s wasted 3 years chasing pink as his primary goal of the season.
Bernal in this form can take on the Slovenians. He did not look tired at the finish
Maybe not such iconic but still GT wins, yes, you may be right. So youre telling me you dont want to win a few more iconic stage wins if the opportunity presents itself because it will give him 1% more in September? Hopefully riders like Egan doesnt think like that.
