Yes, Taormina is a lot more hilly. In hindsight I should have paid more attention to the stage being classified as flat.
With only 6 stages classified as flat I don't see it as a big deal. I'll keep my complaints for the hilly stages.

No, but low TT mileage almost always equals no need for really long stages to set the overall length in the usual range.
That's also the trend with the Tour. Just 1 or 2 TTs and they don't need really long stages to compensate the "lost" kms of the TT days.

I don't think it is true but if it is real this stage would be a human cruelty. I understand Gigs when he says that Fedaia as a MTF is not good, and I agree, but the preceding mountains are so hard and the length of the stage long enough that I cannot see anything less than riders coming in ones and twos.

So, I wanted to check the route of the Giro out, but turns out they have only revealed the sprint stages and the grand depart. Lmao, wtf is this.... hope this doesnt get too popular in the future, what a shitty way to bring some 'excitement' into the presentation. Like, please.............

The should take pride in the fact that the Giro usually has the hardest mountain stages and sell it as "the world's hardest race in the world's most beautiful country".

Nevegal-Forcella Staulanza-Campolongo-Valparola-Giau-Fedaia would be over 5,500m of altitude gain and under 185kms.
