I can't see any GC action from the favourites if a break goes. Maybe from likes of Dunbar down might give it a go. If the stage is up for grabs, I'd expect someone higher up might give it a shot on that last climb.

Stage is tailor-made for Primoz Roglic.

I really expect GC action, and Primoz could really move into Pink. I really have hope.

One also cannot know what will be shortened or cancelled next week. So I think Primoz in Pink tomorrow evening…

Konrad should be all trying to make the group.
Well, with Vlasov out and the rest of the team not climbing super well (Jungels not really in form), Konrad is the only one that can keep pace with Kämna who is still going for GC. Yesterday Konrad was the only one there in the group when Kämna had to stop for the rain jacket and he brought him back. For this exact reason I think Konrad will be required to be with Kämna.

This stage would have been better if it was wet. Even still, the terrain is there to rip Thomas and Roglic a new one. I expect nothing to happen.

Almeida to show he’s been faking yo-yoing off the back and losing time on descent for years to set up this moment of attack.

Honestly, the more the race goes on the more a surprise overall winner will appear.

Allez Bruno! I think that he will keep the jersey. He did well on Croix de Cœur, and now with pink on his back, he'll find a way to make it up the first climb with the peloton and then it gets easier. Allez Bruno!

I'm pessimistic for tomorrow...nothing happened today and it looks like they all want to get to rest day and regroup. Nature hasn't been kind, covid is still there...I get it. But I have to admit that since Remco's departure, if it wasn't for Pinot and Nico, mehhhh.

With a rider in pink, GFC should work a strong and set a strong pace to get Armirail up the Cat1 in ITT mode and give Pinot a chance for KOM points. Ineos may want a break with some of their guys in it and make JV work.

That last murito can create mayhem and marginal gains. For many GC riders, after the pain and suffering, a 10" gain would be good for morale ahead of the rest day.

I'll watch Almeida. And Pinot of course.

Where do I sign for Pinot losing a two-up sprint on every remaining mountain stage while he takes more than one minute on the GC leaders group?

This .

Yesterday was a great day and on top of it Thibaut feels like he got cheated. Yes, he got out-smarted, but he had the fire. Tactics, not smart? I agree, but that's why we cheered for Vino or Contador. Tibopino is p!ssed and it means more fireworks. Yeah!!!

The cycling I love...

Not that it will make the stage that much more exciting, but I don’t see any reason why Roglic wouldn’t try a stomp on that 8% section of Bergamo Alta with just a 3 Km descent to the line. Might as well with rest day following. Only reason not is if he’s hurting and doesn’t want to get countered and lose time.

I guess the rest day will be sunny............probably another large break. Pinot will look to add more points. Don't expect much from the GC group.

Big battle today? KOM points ! Otherwise hoping Armirail gains another minute just to make things interesting. This day should suit Roglic but barring an accident (or a team car stopping so someone can urinate) I'm not expecting any GC movement - small group GC guys come in together.

Astana 2015 - 2018 would have put the team on the front and blown the back out of the race on this stage

Tomorrow it will be another boring stage....and another bad designed stage.

It's the length of the valley section in the middle of the stage which poses a problem.

Other than that, I'm going to assume it'll be a GC day. I bet Ineos will try to get Arensman in a break & Jumbo will send a couple of satellite riders up the road as well.

Or one of these teams will drill the stage like Bora did last year on a similar profile. In any case this Giro will likely deliver GC battles when no one is really expecting anything & zero GC battle when everyone is expecting something.

It makes sense.
