Watching Ghebreigzabhier put his rain jacket on was scary, if he had lost control of his bike for just a second he would have fallen off the mountain.

I agree he could or should be more agressive, but that also doesn't seem to be exactly his strength, so I just think it's unfair to call him a disgrace just because he's trying to get the most out of what he can do and doesn't fancy trying stuff that's not so suited to him. I mean I dislike it as well, but it's not disgracefull it's just boring, okay sometimes negative racing.
Tbf though, it's not like a lack of explosivity should stop a rider being able to attack. He rides for a stacked team that could try to use numbers for their advantage. Like you think of the Vingegaard and Roglic attack from miles out in the Tour that broke Pogacar. No reason Thomas and Arensman can't try something like that against Martinez. They could try ambush him early in a stage too, get someone like Ganna up the road and then start to attack, isolate him (easy since Lipowitz is out) and then they and distance him. You don't need to be doing some super accelerations up climbs like Pog is doing to break someone.

True, but that's team tactics, and not just down to him. I was looking more at his individual abilities and why he races like he does in most races.

The problem with your Idea is that Bahrain would react to an Arensman attack, and at some point Tiberi personally. So isolating Martinez is easy, getting rid of him not so much I guess. Today you could also see that many teams rode, for some reason, so this plan seems like it would have been rather doomed to begin with.

But yeah, they should be more aggressive.

Tomorrow is a flat day , I look forward to all the GC guys attacking each other on the final climb to try and get time back.
