I think Gavia would be a good MTF from the Bormio side, and you can have both sides of Gavia and Stelvio in the same stage.Gavia north isn't all that great, and you can't take both from the best side.

A finish in bormio from the south still has potential imo. The top of the mortirolo to bormio isn't much further than to the typical aprica finish, If they used recta contador or the 2012 mortirolo it could be a good stage.I'm sorry to kill the buzz but afaik they will get to Bormio from the south and finish in town.
That will be, all in all, a disappointing stage. The big mountain stage will be stage 16 (which, btw, does not finish in Torbole)
San Valentino-Monte Faè or even Valbona-Faè would be fine stages.Absolutely. La Polsa would fit better with San Valentino as penultimate climb.
Was that the climb that Pozzovivo won on in Giro del Trentino 2012?A finish in bormio from the south still has potential imo. The top of the mortirolo to bormio isn't much further than to the typical aprica finish, If they used recta contador or the 2012 mortirolo it could be a good stage.
As for stage 16 there are so many good climbs around lake garda, many of which have already been mentioned but if the finish isn't in Torbole, could we possibly dream of Punta Veleno?

- Vesuvio
- Some Marche Muri
- Pradaccio (would be wasted though)
- San Valentino
- Neggia
- Moncenisio
The positive spin is that the 2011 stage paved the way for subsequent use of Ancares (or at least indicated interest in subsequent use of it). It's been too long since the last time Pradaccio was used.2011 Ancares regen
Latest news is that Stelvio is on the table, baby!!!
Best 1-2 punch in all of Italy <3

The main driver of Stelvio in 2020 was ludicrous team strength and a GC situation that necessitated high aggression.
The flat is almost non existent. Torre di Fraele has 3km that's visible on the Foscagno profile. If you go straight to the foot of Bormio there's literally only 1km of true flat
It's really gonna depend on who shows up. It's not like Mortirolo where Mortirolo is the only place that makes sense to attack, and which by being shorter is also less intimidating to attack because you recover a bit more easily on the descent.
So they say, yes. It would definitely make the stage a lot better.Recta Contador vibes intensifies.
Sorry, but even if the race situation provided agressiveness, route was just perfect. It only missed a gravel stage.2015 was like 50% route and 50% the exact field that showed up with Contador with his meme dream vs Astana firing on all cylinders and nobody else to worry about.
Finestre- Sestriere combo
Mortirolo-Aprica combo
