He's not a good descender, is he? In the peloton, Caruso, maybe van Aert etc may keep the pace high.

I think the gap is big enough. It's not like the GC guys have been going easy. S Yates looks good tho and yes I'm assuming Van Aert will try to do something but doubt it will be nough. Think Fortunato has been saving himself a bit.

Del Toro would be leading this race with 3 minutes of UAE didnt chase him on stage 9 and stage 15. You can add him basically covering moves after Ayuso on stage 7 and some bonus that Ayuso stole as well during the race
And without crashes he'd be a minute down because of TTs and Ayuso wouldn't have been dropped.

The result being all about who crashed and who didn't. That's a bit weird to say the least. It's not cyclocross after all?! :fearful:
