The final part of the stage is quite a drag. Why did they think it necessary to have three minutes between riders now? This early in the race, that seems completely nonsensical.
I think they copy pasted the usual TT planning and literally nobody bothered to read it or double check.

That's nonsense, this is far more typical a TT than one with 0 metres of elevation gain and two turns. If one small hill that can be climbed in the big ring doesn't suit him, then the majority of TTs don't and then that's an argument in favour of him not belonging above the blob.
Tbf he was the only one close to Remco in the Dauphine TT last year and that was a TT that was not pan flat. Everyone other than him and Roglic were a minute off

The winning speed here is below 51 km/h. Many flat ITTs are rather at 55+.

It's a 16km TT at 51km/h, it's even slower than last year's Tour TT despite being almost half the length. You're seemingly ignoring reality to prove a point.

But who's going to beat him other than Roglic?
I think Landa could´ve complicated things for Ayuso in the mountains.

The Yates brothers? They're not reliable.

Tiberi was disappointing today; he won't be better than Ayuso in the mountains.
Third week Carapaz? And I think Storer has a decent shot at the podium if he can keep his TOA form.

Breakaway riders salivating already. Astana in particular would love to get the jersey offloaded to them.
Is there going to be anyone from Astana in the range to actually take it? I'm assuming tomorrow will be a break and GC lead is changed over then but not sure likes of Scaroni, Ullissi are close enough that they'll be getting into pink from there.
