It's unfortunate Trek wanted to control the stage--certainly Bora would not have tried to control so we could have had a much more interesting break situation and some attacks on the climb. Perhaps they will get their just desserts and Mads will lose the sprint.

Fuglsang still one of the most selfless riders in the peleton. Despite being a GC rider for Israel he sacrificed himself to drive Strong back into the peleton. Similar to how he sacrificed a stage win for Nibalis GC in the Tour. And remember, it's not just teammates he's looking after, Alaphilippe wouldn't have half of his career in the classics if not for him.

Of course, I wasn't blaming them--they are doing what they are supposed to do. It just doesn't fit my selfish interest to get a more unpredictable stage But it's nothing new to get this in the 1st week of a GT.
