That being said, I'm not sure if there wouldn't be any crashes without fighting for position. One touch to the breaks and you are crashing on that road.

I would ride at the back of the bunch with the whole team and ride with a small gap.
If something happens you can react and get back with the team if held up.

Honestly, when it comes to sock length now kinda agree. I don't care about the length, but the fact the plastic-looking socks look virtually the same on the entire peloton is an ugly look. At least some teams have some different colors than white. And of course those aero/compression socks are pointless: when everyone has the same thing there is no advantage gained.

Agreed, but then they proceed to neutralise the stage even for the points competition which just doesn't make any sense. They always have to make one ridiculous decision in a situation like this.
