I would guess the breakaway isn't his main opponent?! Hard to see him keeping up with Roglic etc, even if there's only action on the climb to the finish.

Yes, whatever break that eventually gets away shouldn't be the main threat, but this is the perfect break to get 10 minutes and to kill all action for the stage win in the peloton. And I don't think he loses 17" in the last km, so it's about surviving until then.
