Interesting that Garmin and Saxo Bank have chosen to send Christian Van de Velde and Gustav Larsson out relatively early in the day, more than 2 hours before the final riders will start.

Shifting winds?

garmins gc man will be dan martin and millars for the first week and csc has nothing to show if you ask me, but stage wins, so in that case it would be tactic you're right ;)

By the way, does anyone know how the organizers decide the team order for the prologue of a GT? I always thought that it was tied into performance from last year, but that doesn't seem to be the case based on the order that is listed here.

I think the team just get nine different slots and get to decide themselves who rides when.

Thank you.

Just know nothing of it.

I was not half right, but full wrong. TV is the intermediate sprint allegedly. Actually the 'R' stands for the feed zone. 'Zona Rifornimento' in Italian.

cool pics, still looks like a decent amount of work left to do? I like the start ramp/area.

Dude.... Amsterdam is a PACKED city... They can't just set that kind of stuff up days in advance. There would be serious blood spilled if they tried to close off the Amsterdam inner city for even more than a second than is absolutely necessary.

I think blood will even now be spilled. Trucks and cars will try to get through some way or another and be shocked and appalled when they are told the entire region is off limits for a few hours. It's the same each year with the marathon, the dam tot dam and any big event, people in cars in the city centre will just choose to ignore it :p ;)

(not being absolutely serious here guys)

I'm wondering if Porte can once again surprise the people, would make for a really fun start, although that probably won't happen

Bruseghin thanks his lucky stars for being made team leader once again.
(also: WTF were the organizers thinking?)

Thanks for that........Mollema off second last for all you dutchies.........and Richie Porte is off seventh last........................and the final starter Mr. Greipel:eek:

Does anybody know what the 'G' column is for ie. some riders have a 'G' in a column whilst others don't. Certain photographers? or cameras? or maybe those riders will have some sort of technology on their bike like at the worlds last year ie. GPS positioning, cadence, speed etc. I really can't figure it out. Someone willing to enlighten me
Im not sure where they pulled out some of those start possies - Nice to see Porte be so up front (im guessing his prolouge TT win in Romandie would of helped.

I would of thought Cadel would of been higher/lower than 11 last given they gave him the no.1 bib.

So you don't drink alcohol?

I am thinking of my wallett which doesn't have much in it!;)

I'd rather lose all my pride and dignity before my money:D

Oh well.

The offer still stands!

We can always change it.

It's hard to tell what you drink.

If he comes top 30, I'll get you a bottle of wine. White or red, your choice. But no more than $30. Whatever Alcohol you drink.

He doesn't come top 30, you get me a pint of beer at the nearest pub at the World's.

Does that offer sound a bit better?

They had to sign the chests of the models?

Not that is there anything wrong with that.

Just saw an interview on Eurosport news where they interviewed Cadel Evans and he was giving the interview in Italian, which I found slightly hilarious.

Porte was strong in paris nice prologue, crashed in romandie, then won the TT and rode a decent GC...forget his age/status...looks better than any other aussie for a top ride. Bobridge didn't impress at romandie, maybe due to bike handling and this stage looks at least as tricky. Also wind changing aside, to take time on a downhill takes power and good handling.

Svein Tuft FTW on Saturday!!!! he carried fido across the planet on his rickety bicycle, he can beat 197 skinny dudes in spandex in a 8km TT even though he's got a minor disadvantage, being not on the juice.
