Actually the weather is getting better and better.
At the moment it’s clear and sunny, but there is wind from sea (which should be tailwind at the finish).
No clouds, but could change going inland.

cav will never win this

Calm down dear - it's pretty obvious he could easily win it. The "climb" over the final 10km is about 1.5%, which is relatively irrelevant in the context of a sprint train.

The final ramp is both short and shallow, and begins after the sprint has already started - it is not ideal for Cav, but to say it precludes him is just hyperbolic nonsense.

cav is doing his worst year so far so I don't see him standing a chance on this final course. it's a real powersprint final

No, this year is significantly better than last year, go and look at CQ.

There is a risk he will wait too late because of the small rise (4 whole meters) and get jumped again, but if he goes early enough I expect him to get a decent gap and hold it through the final 100m.

Just saw him on the screen, glasses are the only pink addition.

And not to forget, he was good enough to win the 2nd stage. The stages untill now just haven't been suited for him and we already knew that. His climbing is irrelevant to his sprinting.

I actually recall Petacchi standing on the podium though - so actually he wasnt good enough to win that stage either

seems we have a break of 2 or 3

Cazaux (Euskaltel-Euskadi) and Beppu (RadioShack)

to 1:30 Krivtsov (AG2R)

2.22 to the group.

Now 6'32 at 27km.

Beppu is 40'+ behind AC
Cazaux and Krivtsov are over an hour+ in arrears. So they won't be taking maglia rosa today.

EDIT: I must have been looking at their respective finishes on Etna.

Beppu is 40 minutes behind on the GC. But at some point the peloton will start the race so he will probably not make it.
Over the Cat 4 it was Beppu, Cazaux and then Krivtsov. (3, 2, 1 points?)

Wow, two races separated by an ocean, both worthy of only watching the last 10 km. I wonder if this was planned?

At least I'll be able to get some work done tomorrow.:D

LOL, at least the Giro has some racing and awesome scenery! As I mentioned elsewhere ToC is, and always has been, Dull with a capital D.

I'm guessing as I haven't heard for sure, but Fabu must be riding the Tour de Suisse, as he seems not to be interested at all in the ATOC. Can't blame him.
I have to agree that the prospects for an exciting race are low, although I am sure rooting for some of the home teams to mix it up. :)
