Could you ask him/her who was "in the car" for Astana today?

Was it Bizzarro Bruyneel maybe?

If you know who was here, I think they'd slow pedal the next two stages in protest over not getting a break for 12 days.

Yeah there are going to be huge protests if the Giro don't get their act together for next year.

The ToC is going to replace the Giro if they're not careful.

The Giro has just become a lottery with no skill to winning. It's now totally random.

Paolo Salvodeli commenting on the Rai coverage made the point that having raced with Vino for several years, he thought a possible explination as to Astana's lethargy was that Vino came into the race not convinced that he could withstand the third week, that he could be already quite tired and, thus, wasn't convinced to make his boys put up a mad chase.

I can believe this. Vino has a history of treating his domestiques very well (not making them kill themselves unnecessarily to serve no purpose than stroke his own ego). Also, the original Astana game plan was for Stangelj to pull out before the 3rd week so he could prep for the Tour. That sounds like Vino was not expecting to defend the maglia rosa in the 3rd week.

Don't know if Stangelj will still pull out now that Tiralongo is gone.

Yep, if you are vying for GC in a grand tour you always have to take responsibility for the race and you always have to be attentive. In bad weather, you should be doubly attentive. These guys can only blame themselves.

So much for my thought that a radio ban would be the catalyst to make a race interesting...apparently inattentive stupidity is what it takes. Wouldn't it be bizarre if Sastre came back to win?

I did asault a guy that is a very bad rider, he asaulted a guy who won 3 GTs.

Kiserlovski's a good climber... better then Bakelandts probably. Though at their age they could both fail spectacularly.
In a purely climbing sense De Greef is better than Bakelandts too I think.

It was 39min, but they raised the limit to 12% because of the bad weather, which would put it somewhere around 47min I think.
