Giro d'Italia Stage 12: Città Sant'Angelo - Porto Recanti (206km)

Page 2 - Get up to date with the latest news, scores & standings from the Cycling News Community.
After last nights stage this will finish in a sprint....There's no way teams like Cerevelo or Caisse or Saxo are letting anything out of their sights.Plus with the mountains looming the teams will want a fairly easy ride today and Saxo can control the peloton.Winner maybe Farrar..

This race is getting a bit difficult to predict, to say the least. My bet is that HTC want to give Greipel a final chance before most sprinters probably drop out after this stage.

But there will be a lot of tired legs today, so a succesful breakaway is always a possibility. Markus Fothen, Craig Lewis, Mikhail Ignatiev and Paul Voss in the break, toghether with Jackson Rodriguez who will take the win.

stong wind, straight roads by the sea...

could be echelon city

i think everyone wants a quiet day though
I think with the time losses, teams will take every chance to get time back on others.

Out Of Time.
He was outside the time limit. But as so many riders were, they got special dispensation to continue with only a 25 point penalty.

It's hard enough for a sprinter to win the consistency jersey given how one-dimensional sprinters tend to be, but after this he's barely got a chance. It's Evans' to lose.

You mean the gc or the stage?

So, Lance had to get Floyd to confess, just to try and get somebody to watch his Tour of California, instead of this spectacular Giro!:D

This might..........or might not be, the only quiet day before Monday's rest day.
Anything could happen on 13 and 14...........

Weather today should be much better.

I hear Bobridge is on a solo flyer and already has half an hour after 20km.

[edit] Scratch that, he's not solo. Oscuro Italiano bridged after 5km, they are working together.

Although having the image of O. Italiano dance across the minds of those interested as to how and when he launched his herculean attack - and any attack after yesterday's hard day of racing should be described in exactly those terms - is it really true?

Gazzetta ticker. Seems that Flens has attacked. Also, Weylandt of Quickstep and Roels of Milram did not start.

Nooo :(

I've been fooled. I was convinced Oscuro was going to solo to victory.

Sorry…though there is still plenty of time for Oscuro to make his presence felt. Would hate for Oscuro to wind up being a has been that never was. I mean he showed so much promise even before the stage began.

Oh yeah, the Giro, I forgot....

Nice flat stage. I'm going for either Goss (probably a good day for Farrar/Garmin to keep a low profile) or my old favourite Oscuro from a break. And it's nice to see Oscuro getting a bit more support from the forum! :)

So, from the Cyclingnews live ticker

12:40 GMT

Will we finally see an Italian stage winner today? The tifosi are getting pretty impatient. Will Alessandro Petacchi find his top speed again or Tyler Farrar remain almost unbeatable? If the stage does finish in a bunch sprint...

A shame the 'World Centre of Cycling' hasnt noticed that Petacchi withdrew a few days ago
