Is Basso doing the Tour?

All the big Liquigas guys were doing the Tour. Giro was for Ivan and Franco and Roman and Vincenzo got the Giro to aim for. Don't know about the young guys now with Franco's dilemma. Roman will probably be the GC go to guy in the Tour...or Nibali. Made sense everything that has happened so far. Liquigas had the last few days planned. Smart racing and hard. Cunego looked really good at the end. Style over struggle.

everyone said he was going to lose quite big and evans said nothing about the cadel so that ain't no excuse, boy.

Its an excuse, and a weak one. Cuddles just blew, plain and simple, so all of your "Basso looks like 2006" and "Cuddles has a cold" are transparently ridiculous ruminations of a dejected fanboy.

The guy is back to his old 2006 tricks. Imagine him killing everyone bar Contador and Schleck at the Tour...

I think Arroyo showed today that he is not going to win this Giro, unless he comes out of the rest day going great guns his 3:33 over Basso will be gone long before the final TT.

Sastre still in the top 5, ahead of Evans!

I see all this stuff about great ride Cunego, great ride Mollema and Martin.

IMO the guy who finished second had the second best ride of the day, yet he gets trashed here still. Guys in 11th etc get praised, but second had a bad ride. Incredible.

Just ridiculous. Evans showed me more on that ride than nearly any Tour de France ride I have seen him do. He hung onto Basso when no one else could.

In the end Basso was too good, but that doesn't mean Evans rode bad.

Evans should have let basso go earlier and held 30 seconds, easy from where I'm sitting of course. Congrats to Porte and Arroyo for hanging in there GC Arroyo POrte, Basso, Sastre Evans?

He still came second on the Queen stage with a depleted team. He's done very well.

Not sure yet. In '06 he killed everyone on every hill, kind of thing. Won GC by 10 mins or so, if I remember correctly.

We'll see.

Where did you see the guy getting trashed? I saw a bunch of people praising him and blasting the fanboy who's making excuses for Evans not winning.

Yes. To support Nibali and Kreuziger. The latter is likely to be leading the team, since Nibali and Basso will be exhausted from this

I wouldn't count out nibali for a strong tdf. Watch him to sit up if basso doesn't slip into this week.

Agree with this. He really did tank in the moments after Basso stepped it up.

Sad to see all the innuendo after such a fantastic race and spectacle.
Give it a rest. You have Armstrong to go to town on.

He often does that. Holds on too long and blows a bit more than he should. Difference is today he did not blow 2 minutes like he has in the past. He only dropped 1'19". Evans did very well. Cunego and Scarponi are going to turn third into a dogfight if they keep riding like this. Vino, Sastre, Nibali and the aforementioned two. Game on. Where was Gerdemann?

evans has indeed recieved a lot of support in the giro.

certain members making excuses is the norm though. It's like a cycling cliché for me now.
