Looks like the pre-race worries about this stage being ruined by bad placement right before Finestre stage are being at least partly substantiated. I won't blame riders at all this time, they have wanted to do more than route has allowed for most of the race, so one subpar big stage is not something to cry about.

Del Toro should attack, could get 15+bonuses here

They aren't trying to win the stage, so I don't think del Toro will do anything. Noone will do anything untill the sprint for second, which will be won by del Toro.

Sad to say this but the most exiting part of this stage for me was sorting secondary literature.

Still odd consensus? Do you still struggle to get it?
I get what KOM is saying but just doesn't hold true for WT level racing, there is no such thing as an easy race, you can be on pancake flat terrain and these guys fry each other, The problem with TV and internet is that these guys make it look easy.. Yes terrain with mountains is different challenge, but it's the level of the racers, what they are doing would kill most people.. And this selection is pretty f-ckin' awesome.. Quality talent!!
Have fun with math!!! Will solo Decathelon stallion lose 1:38 in 2.7 kilometers!!

You would think uae would have wanted the stage win but they are just chilling
Although I think Del Toro would be the favorite, they take the risk that Carapaz could beat him. So they're content with arriving at Finestre with this advantage.

Not because the GC riders decided not to take risks.

The five strongest riders in a Giro could´ve overtaken that rider.
And because the Giro's level is low. Since when has Simon not come close to winning a GT, and Carapaz too. It's no coincidence

They are a low level and they dont take enough risks ...seems you want it both ways
They are either too low level for you or they dont take enough risks

If someone else could have nuked this then maybe they should have stayed on their bike...otherwise this is all pointless speculation

Simon Philip Yates you are less than one minute behind to winning a giro, which you chased for many years, please just find some charisma for once in your life

He's thinking about Finestre
Gee should´ve tried something today if he wanted to win the Giro, but it seems he's content with a chance of a podium if tomorrow one of the top3 explodes.
