I don't think any rando would've attacked for second place. This way he also solidifies his second place. It's not that he spend absurd amounts of effort for this.

That was super human to win this race!! And still thinking back, looked way way different.. I thought he was the weakest of the 3!! Tiberi and Verona had a little.. He took off and destroyed everyone alone!!

They simply have no legs to attack Del Toro except Carapaz. 35 y.o. Majka was able to cover most "attacks" and that's embarrassing result for these young wolfs.

It's not false pacing - it's perfect pacing for their GC leader - if no one else responds not their issue.

Of course it is false pacing. When UAE took over the pacing Prodhomme was 1m and 13 seconds clear with 5kms of the second last climb to go and he still wins by 58 seconds. Majka was going the same pace as prodhomme.
