A lot of the European's here seem surprised at the lack of sportsmanship being displayed by the Australians on this board...

Just joking my fellow Australasians.
Anyway moving on...
I think Cadel only has himself to blame for not winning a GT. He is consistantly weak in the third week of GTs.
'07 TDF Lost time in the last few mountain stages then took nothing back in the final TT.
'08 TDF 2 Lost time to Sastre on Le Alpe D'Huez then took nothing back in the final TT.
'09 TDF Completely blew up in the final week after never looking like getting it done.
'10 Giro Has lost time on the last two peaks would have lost time tomorrow if the race wasn't effectively finished today. And will not gain anything back in the final TT and wouldn't have regardless.
Simply not good enough in the third week of GTs. That is the sole reason he has not won a GT.
Personally I support Evans. I wish he would have signed for a team that was capable of supporting him through a GT. I think being an Australian has been a disadvantage in this respect since a lot of teams would rather have a leader from the same country as their team's sponser than a foreigner. Nothing against the European teams, it makes perfect sense from a team's perspective, unfortunately for Cadel.
