Why? Because I have the balls to come on here and have an opinion against doping?

FYI I use to admire Ullrich and cheer for him at the TDF, when he was found out as a cheat I was ashamed at myself for supporting him, the same would happen if Evans tested positive.

To see people openly supporting riders like Basso and Vino who have been found guilty of doping digusts me, its worse then turning a blind eye to someone getting mugged or attacked.

Some of you people are pathetic, the drug culture in the sport is caused by the people supporting those that do it, if they were not supported and given proper bans the doping would drastically decrease.

I don't care who it is, be it Evans, Basso, Contador, etc.. If you get caught doping you should be ****ed off out of the sport forever and fined 5 years salary.

You people on here attack me for it, I say your all just spineless cowards who don't have the balls to stand up for anything.

Amen
+1 trillion

Takes two or more people to argue so if you dont wanna talk about it then don't reply to someoone who does.

I think he should have it in the bag. He'll probably get some points in the finall TT as well. More than Basso and Nibali one would expect, unless he is really spent.
Vino obviously wants it. He wheelsucked the last 5 km or so to take the sprint for 4th.

You may be right. He should be among the highest finishers at the TT in Verona.
Evans should be ahead by about 10 points though.
I hopes he at least keep that jersey.

I feel bad for him. Sure he got the Fleche, but sacrificed his Giro. Change of team and still no support from teammates. A minute and a half lost to Liquigas in the TTT.
IMO, he should skip the Tour and rest and give it a go at the Vuelta. No way the team management will let that happen though.
It's a shame that a Savoldelli or a Di Luca or Valverde all have at least one GT to their name and Evans doesn't. He's a better GT rider than those three.

+1 to the Vuelta idea--assuming that BMC can get an invite.

Basso had the advantage of being able to prepare for nothing other than the Giro. It did not matter if he had a quiet early season.

Evans' team is a joke.

Davis_123 and ACF94, what is it you find difficult to understand about "This is not the place"?

Please STFU about it. Go to the clinic.

Beating someone by 9mins who was a former champion means nothing, Basso should have Sastre covered by around 18mins and he won the TDF only 2 years ago.

Simoni 9mins - Sastre 18mins which one is more conclusive hmm?

Fact check time. The Buffalo lost by 9 minutes, Gibo lost by 12. Oh, and places 3, 4, and 5 have a total of 5 Giro wins. Your claim that they were "duds" and "no ones" makes you look extremely ignorant.

Final General classification 2006 Giro

1 Ivan Basso (Ita) Team CSC 91.33.36 (38.54 km/h)
2 José E. Gutierrez Cataluna (Spa) Phonak Hearing Systems 9.18
3 Gilberto Simoni (Ita) Saunier Duval-Prodir 11.59
4 Damiano Cunego (Ita) Lampre-Fondital 18.16
5 Paolo Savoldelli (Ita) Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team 19.22

I know this would would make more work for the moderators, who already have enough to do, but could there be an automatic ban for people who post doping accusations in the race threads? It wouldn't have to be immediate, but if would be good if something could be done to prevent those clowns from derailing all the race discussions. DPF used to give an automatic two month suspension to people who couldn't keep the drug talk separate from the race talk. It made the race discussions a lot more civil and actually focused on tactics and what the riders did on the road.

second the motion :) sorry for slow posting:D really slooooow connection:D

Unless VBulletin have made major upgrades to their forums since I last used them this is highly improbable and more then likely impossible.

They all appear to be out of the same moan mold.
Can't shut up when Cuddles is going well.
Weren't whinging about the opposition when he was in pink, were they?
All point the big "D" finger at everyone else when he's not.

Spoiling an excellent thread on a super stage, just because they don't like the race result, just isn't on.

No, because there is a whole forum dedicated to the discussion of that very subject, so, if there is discussion of that topic to be had, it should be had in that forum.

Pretty simple, actually.

Who cares? Want to discussion doping? Use the forum set up for that purpose.

The only thing people are openly supporting is you making a thread about it in the clinic, where the topic can be discussed ad nauseum.

See above. Prove that he's currently dirty by starting a thread in the appropriate forum.

Have suggestions about the penalties for doping? Start a thread about it in the appropriate forum.

How is anyone a spineless coward for trying to direct you to the forum made specifically for the topic you're trying to discuss?

It is more likely that you're just a little slow.

I hope Arroyo finds the strength to keep a place on the podium.
He will lose a mass of time to other favorites in the TT though.
It all depends on tomorrow's stage.
Great stage once again!:)

True...when he was in pink was when it was on a flat stage. Evans said he was already really tired before kronplatz so seeing this in hindsight is not surprising.

If Evans races, they will get an invite. I doubt it though. The team management will probably force Cuddles to do the Tour.
Every bit as bad as Lotto. They just cleared Ballan to race again. He could have used his help in some of the stages. I doubt he would have lost time in the Netherlands if he was on Ballan's wheel.

Don't diss my man Vino. I have decided to live my entire life based on the simple dictum, "What would Vino do?" It's already landed me in bed with two hot asian babes.

This is the issue:

" Professional road racing [where we are now]
A place to discuss all things related to current professional road races. Here, you can also touch on the latest news relating to professional road racing. A doping discussion free forum."

" The Clinic
The Clinic is the only place on Cyclingnews where you can discuss doping-related issues. Ask questions, discuss positives or improvements to procedures."

I have no problem with what you're saying. NONE at all. It just isn't the right place, and there is no reason to get hostile when people are trying to point out the forum rules.

http://forum.cyclingnews.com/index.php

That is the problem, this is the main forum for racing which every visitor comes to 1st. It sends the message to every visitor to this forum that we accept doping and support those who have been convicted of it.

I post here despite this rule as a form of protest, the rule has given up on fighting for a clean sport and I don't like it. If I get banned for posting my views so be it I will not conform to a set of rules that allow dopers to be praised.

Yup. Hincapie, Ballan, Burghardt etc. (?) should all have been on the Giro team. Evans has to take part of the blame for them not being there, though.
