First of all, that was qualifying.

Secondly, some of us didn't get to watch it live and want to watch if later without having it spoiled, thank you very much.

There's a reason why the cycling forum and the general forum are separate.

Who's being condescending now...

*ignores fact that i made similar comment*

Everyone seems to be saying that nibali should hav left basso, but i saw basso on front enough to think they were evenly trading turns.

I think cadel's victory salute was to point at the stripes...though a little late. Great stage.

Cadel can only blame himself if he loses it now...its one week and the 3rd weeks is epic, oh and he isn't in first yet.

Hmmm, vino being in the lead is good for evans as he will hold it till monte grappa or zoncolan as i think tommorow will be neutral for the top of gc even though sastre will attack.

Really like the way Vino and Evans worked together. Even when Arroryo (sic) bridged, they just ignored him and rode for time.

Enjoy Vino. Proves that a clean sport will still be exciting. Vino attacking has nothing to do with drugs, that's all in your head. You can fabricate drugs, but you cannot fabricate an attacking spirit.
yeah the whole world fabricated him getting banned for two years......fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

You also cannot fabricate him blowing up completely in a later stage as he always does, as a consequence of expending far too much energy ;)

this is evans' time. vino will lead for the next week imo.

I don't think it will be a week. After his effort today, Vino may implode tomorrow.

One of the best things about the thread for this stage was there was no thrash talking; now it is over people come in and start BSing. Get a life, it was an epic stage in a race that has had everything; lets hope it keep getting better.

What I will say about Evans is that the move to his new team has given him such a new lease of life. It's great to see him attack and exert himself on races now.

If my tivo worked well, I get to watch this stage again, entirely, on Sunday! :D

and then there's the MoToFi tomorrow! :)

With the increasing time differences between the contenders, this could become a very open Giro...

I think the rainbow jersey has something to do with it too.

Will be interesting to see how long he can hold this form for.
I expect him to run away with the giro.

Evans' sprint reminded me of Hinault's at the 1981 Paris-Roubaix -- he lead from a long way out, and you swore the other guys were going to pass him at any moment, but he was just too strong! (Hinault, incidentally, was also wearing a mud-splattered rainbow jersey.)

What a fantastic stage. The Gazzetta dello Sport video stream is amazing as well. Evans looked really strong, I agree that Vino might have dug a tad too deep today. Tomorrow's stage will be telling I think.

Don't know exactly yet, but I think the commentary said he was now third in the youth classification. Obviously behind Porte, and probably Agnoli... Mean probably didn't lose much more than 6 minutes on Cadel... Else Bakelants would've overtaken him....

Not much comfort until we know the full results, but whatever.
