Yes Sastre in the 2nd group. I've seen the Cervelo boys hanging around the back of the peleton a couple of times now.... And now its costing them.

Said it before, this just isn't his Giro.

My thoughts exactly, they must have been caught off guard.

It isn't at all. I think he's losing the Giro today.

And why the heck are Katusha killing themselves to drop Sastre? It's not like he's an opponent of theirs

i think they want the stage win with pozzato today

The groups are very close, but Cervélo don't seem to be chasing. This is very odd

Yes, but that doesn't explain the chasing

Losing half the people for Pozzato is good for them.

Катюша have been doing the work all day, to get the stage. They upped the pace to close down the break and 60 or so riders including Sastre got caught out. Sastre fucked himself, Катюша didn't fuck him. If Liquigas is going to pull on the front I'd be surprised.

I wonder if this is also a side effect of Sastre's limited race schedule prior to the Giro.

Sastre's Giro seems over, then.

This Giro just gets worse every day. We started with a ton of GC candidates and sprinters and now we barely have any.

I was wondering about that. Anyone got experience with it in the wet?

In procycling magazine, Franco Chiocchioli said that if it's wet, the climb would be "even more horrendous", and that it will become "absolute chaos"..

Was thinking the same thing. The Giro could be decided almost in the first week, instead of the killer last week!

No. I know because Isso told me that this wouldn't be an issue :p

You do know he crashed twice already and the only reason he hasn't abandoned is he hopes to ride off the hip joint pain, right? :)
