congrats to evans, if he doesn't win the giro from here, he has no one to blame but himself.

Marvellous win for Evans - just too fast up that final ramp for Cunego

Vino deserves to be back in pink - made most of the running

Could be set up for great duel in the mountains between these two similar to Menchov and Di Luca last year

Amazing scenes.

Also, can we finally put that 'rainbow curse' bull**** to bed now? Evans is having a career-making season in the stripes.

Evans needs to get some lessons on finish-line celebrations from Robbie McEwen or something, although today's was streets ahead of his poor efforts at the Worlds and Fleche Wallone.
whatever....

to me he always looks spent every time he finishes

Tremendous stage, fantastic to see Millar in 3rd overall as we go into the mountains. Those final 40km's were great to watch.

It could split the race apart. GC riders will need to be attentive as some of the lower down contenders could attack to get some time back.

That will make it a great race. Something out of the ordinary. Prudhomme was saying that AZ copied the tdf with the strade bianche stage but I think this definetly will out do the tdf stage of cobbles.

Here are the main contenders for gc who rode the MPS race and finished.
Garzelli
Evans

the rest did not finish. basso or sastre did not ride.

Will be interesting what liquigas or cervelo do if the favs like vino or evans or garzelli have a go. Will be tough to control. Should be a ripper

My apologies. I must of missed him. My point was about how sastre and basso did not ride MPE this year. Will be interesting to see how they go on these roads of which some people have said they will struggle.

Stuff it. Evans is going to rip it ****ing apart tonight! :D With pozzato...

EDIT: LOL, the dutchies really like to talk up their own even if seeing pigs flying is more chance of happening than their rider winning. they will still go crazy for them. ;)

Oh, guess who was ****ing right?

That's the Rainbow Curse and Cuddles' Curse cancelling each other out.

Too bad there are only like 2-3 guys who still can win overall, and the race hasn't even reached the mountains yet.

Yep. And winning from the front like that, leaving folks in his wake--shockingly strong. If he keeps riding like that I may have to overlook what a douche he is.

Yep, great to see. I think Millar has been given Wiggins' share of this year's rice cakes.

Millar will fall out of the top 10 tomorrow, but he's had an excellent first week.

Vino looked like he was digging much deeper than Evans today, I know the climb tomorrow is not super steep but I wouldn't be surprised to see him lose some seconds. I think Evans needs to ride a clever race from here on out, gunning for the jersey tomorrow would probably be a mistake with the team he has.

All in all the gaps between Evans and the Liquiguys isn't that big. This was a unique stage, there's a chance Basso and Nibali or on par in the mountains.
