Maybe we should wait to see if there actually becomes a ridiculous train killing everyone in the mountains before we complain about it. Just a thought. It's one day at this point.

And it is not surprising.. Tinkoff-Saxo has been more keen on this approach the last few years..

Keeping the capitane safe by being at the very front all day long in the first hectic and nervous week of a GT is a priority deemed worthy of much work.. 10 positions back may be the difference between success and failure...

Yes sure, may a little over-reacting going on... but Juul-Jensen for a felt 100 kms dropping some serious climbers?

On the other hand, Juul Jensen didnt drop infamous climbers like Stef Clement and Andrey Zeits
Although Zeits beat Froome in the 09 Giro of course!!

And the Richie RV is just massive trolling.. Are they afraid he's going too much *** so in the unlikely scenario he will get busted Brailsford will tell the world how he betrayed their trust when on his own in the minivan, and that they couldn't possibly have known what he did in there..
Smells like full *** on the way to me...

RV is hermetically sealed, and runs on an inert Noble gas.......

I guess this is answered now with Astana? :) 6 guys in a group of 20 or so (with one up ahead)

Indeed. Seems the attacks on Saxo were a tad misplaced.

Yeah, AST isn´t Juul Jensen & Co, but full of former GT-T-20 riders (Cataldo, Kangert, Tiralongo, LLSanchez), young guns who just shone at Trentino (Landa), and potential T-20 riders (Rosa, Zeits).
No surprise at all that they are able to rock.

Sceptic, just read my post. Can´t be a surprise. Not even to you. I said you shall pretend outrage if Olgas no-name boys go havoc, not if the big boys use their potential. ;)

Astana did look totally unreal, so far ahead of the rest. Yes they do have a team with strong climbers but that was something else. They are clearly on a very good brew.

All kidding aside: I am not shocked. They have the best team. What else should they do than ride hard? At least 5 of them would be captain in most of the other teams...

It would be a complete waste if those guys just ride along Aru.

Umm, how old do you think Juul Jensen is? You can't give Landa a pass for being "young" but knock Jul Jensen. They are the same age.

Also, a bit bizzare to say its no surprise Astana can do good while listing Lulu Sanchez as an example

Then you have Tiralongo who is dodgy as hell and Kangert who clearly doped with Astana in 2013 to help Nibali win.

Saxo btw have 4 riders who have top 10s in gts.

This is the B team. The A guys will be with Nibs.

Ok, and AST have 6/7 if including the potential T-20 guys. And Landa? Are you kidding me. Landa is a potential top CG rider, while Juul Jensen is... well... Juul Jensen

BTW, ofc do I think they all dope one way or the other. But if a top CG rider dopes and a bunch of no names dope, the top riders shall be still better... Thus no surprise, no shock, that AST rules. I expect more to come.

With Movistar and Sky also having great teams, that's going to be spectacle.

You mean it's not normal for an entire team to chase through the mtns. for 2 hours?

Also, is that Cannondale's first win of 2015? Yowzers.

What you mean with normal? Nothing is normal in pro sports...

But given the circumstances, yes it´s "normal" that a team full of top tier CG riders light fireworks in the mountains. Actually it would be not normal if all those guys would be back fodder, or just being able to stay in touch with the favourite group.
And it would/is not normal if the Juul Jensens of this world go up and down hills/mountains being at the front for a felt 100 kms.

Actually this ain't true Astana anyway, but somehow Mercatone Uno 2.0 led by Guiseppe Martinelli with Aru as the captain.

Kazakhstani Astana led by Vino will be at the Tour with Nibali. Although Martinelli will be there again as a directeur sportif. But I truly believe they'll have to step down in France and Nibali won't be much of a force in terms of overall victory.

That's why Italian Astana probably is firing all out at the Giro already, until everyone can go totally loco again in Spain, anyway. That said, as Foxxy stated correctly, Astana's Giro squad is full of pure quality. They are arguably the strongest team in Italy! No, they are ... Obviously!

And I hardly see their Giro lineup as the b-squad, at all! If not for the cobbles at the Tour and the importance of Boom, Fuglsang and Westra on it, their Tour team probably wouldn't even look better on paper from my pov! I don't see them deliver more and it's about to see whether Nibali still is Astana's number one after this season!

Yeah, they'll definitely have to scale it down for the Tour. The testing is very robust over there in France. They don't like dopers there. Which is why we have seen such credible winners there the last few years compared with the Giro and Vuelta.
