The funny thing is that Lemond has forgotten that he beat cyclists that were juicing when he rode, what does that say about his performance? Also he and his physician at the time were also named in doping related performances in court papers. How come he was never investigated?
The final TT of this tour showed an amazing performance by Cancellara who blistered the TT. Yet his average speed is still less than Lemonds was when he beat Fignon. So if Greg still holds that record ( and I believe he does) after a 3 week GT with better equipment, wheels, bikes, helmets etc. now, better training methods now, what does that say about Lemonds performance. Lemond isn't trying to clean up the sport he loves, he is a contradicting bitter old man with an agenda that has nothing to due with the good of the sport. If Lance is guilty of something then we will find out when it is all said and done. If Novitsky finds something on Lance legally ( not the way he gathered info on Barry Bonds) then so be it. I still think that if you believe an idiot like Landis, then you probably donated to his defense fund and he has F**ked you twice.

Hear hear! And I would like to add that Lemond is only interested in removing the last obstacle between himself and the top US TDF rider position. That is all he is about. His "clean campaign" is about as genuine as LA's cancer effort.

Why do you think that Novitsky isn't going after LA for doping? Maybe the 300 or so negative tests are hard NOT to believe in a court of law. So instead he does the Al Capone thing and goes after him for Tax evasion, Racketeering, Using Governmant money to support a doping program, etc. etc. He is being tried in the USA because he was on an American team with American sponsors. Lucky for him yes but better than the "witchunt" system of justice in Europe.
Just a thought, How many of you, if you were in front of a judge with your life, reputation and livelihood on the line and the a jury of your peers found you innocent on a "technicality" and you were set free, you'd be pretty happy wouldn't you? C'mon, raise your hands.....yeah I thought so.

And because we don't have an SRM available to us for Gregs data I guess we will never know (accurately) what his output was back then right? Pretty convienent for him to attack the the topic of doping based on info that we can't use against him. -Please tell us how anything in Lemonds time could give the 13% boost of EPO. There were plenty of clean riders then.

By whom and in what court papers were GL and his physician named in doping related performances? If you're just quoting Dr. "Statute of Limitations" Ferrari's letter recently posted to CN, don't bother. Refer to it or link it. We've all read it and admired the way it tells us absolutely nothing concrete.

As for the record TT, could you please just READ before you post? PLEASE? That TT was downhill, with a tailwind. This point has been made numerous times on these forums and is of course documented in any report of the actual event.

And FWIW, no I did not contribute to the Fairness Fund. At the time, I believed FL's denials about as much as I believed in the existence of Tyler's chimera twin.
