Yes, his motives are irrelevant. Manzano was being a vindictive ***, but he was telling the truth, and his revelations brought about Puerto.

I'm in no position to judge if what he says is the truth and haven't said anything to make you reach that conclusion, but parts of what he says are consistent with that others have said, and the rest has only been denied by the people directly accused by him. What I've been saying is that this calls for a proper investigation.

Motives are important in the sense that motives might results in statements that are not true and at least twisting the truth

On the other hand, it could be Weltz was part of the Armstrong USADA withness list.

Plot thickens.

true, could be and would be interesting.

But does that mean we have to wait until the Lance Saga is fully over before Garmin delivers the much promised transparency?

"Let’s recognize the problems quickly and try to deal with them more quickly and more transparently as opposed to hoping they go away on their own."

Millar is a rider who broke the rules, learned his lesson and now is a clear advocate for clean sport and transparency.

Punish everybody who can be lawfully punished (ie. those whose transgressions fall within the SOL). Hamilton's motives are irrelevant, what matters is whether what he says is true.

The rest of your post is utter BS.

All teams did it, everybody did it, what the hell is the news, why start blaming Riis and CSC when everybody else did it, only difference is Riis finally admitted he did, Lance still denies it, Riis is not a bully, he just did what everybody did, and since UCI was in on it, so why not. It was easy, it was easy to hide and EVERYBODY did it, and its years ago.

The real issue here is UCI, no doubt they were actively involved, took bribes, hided evidence, sat on their fat azzes and cheered on so UCI could get the sponsors, the public and the money in own pockets to buy hookers and keep the party going, see that's the real hypocrites.

But no no, lets waste our time on some DS and his team and forget where the real problem is, and STILL is, and it´s incredible to think that the same boss is still sitting in the same chair pulling the strings, and doing the exact same things he and verhooker did then.

But ok, lets waste our time on old news.

Yes it is amazing that JohanB is still somehow connected to cycling.
Team PorkSkinz will probably not be around next year. No worries.

Nice job pitting Weltz and Hamilton against each other.

Hope it still blows up in Riis face.

It would be nice if it did and he was forced to come out and tell us even more stuff and help us clean up the sport, atleast then he would do something useless ^^

I think its sad so many people (just like in the other threads) are being defensive of their national team/riders... Personal I don't give a **** about where they are from.. I want to see them burn if there is truth in this.

After having read the danish newspaper interpretation about what Hamiltion said regarding Weltz, I'm not willing to take his impression as fact.

Hamilton believes, but does not know, what Weltz and Hincapie were talking about.

Hamilton could have made an error of interpreting the situation.
His memory could also have blended different events together.

There are many reasons why Hamilton could be wrong without hamilton knowing he is wrong.

Perhaps Hincapie has corroborated Hamiltons interpretation of the events, or perhaps he hasn't. This is still not known.

It could also be that Weltz did'nt know what he was handing Hincapie. Perhaps he always carried bags from the docs? Hemoroid cream, one day, venerial medication another, epo another again. There are plenty of reasons why a ds would not open a paper bag.

I'm not saying anybody did or did'nt. I would just like to point out that a fact for one person, might not be fact for another, and neither of those persons fact need necesarilly be the true fact.

That is too bad. What about Phonak, Tinkoff, and Rock?

Hamilton may have been asked to leave some of the Rock bits out, given how Rock and Ball and related bits feed into investigations, no?

IMHO, don't be disappointed when there is no transparency event. As others have stated, JV is anti-doping controversy, not anti-doping.

At least part of Fidolix's rants are correct though. The focus at the rider level while morbid fun, doesn't help clean up the sport so much. Yes, some of this comes into the present with dopers at the DS role, but again, that's lower-level stuff that should be cleaned up once the UCI moves in a different direction.

1. I wouldn't bet the farm on sporten whatsoever getting it right and will wait for another source to confirm it (RR?)

1.a the byline how Riis was unable to keep up with USPS is hilarious and says it all

2. cyclismas is parody and not serious

Cyclismas does parody, but they also have a lot of fact based reporting on there too.

Vaughters ramps it up

Rasmus Staghøj ‏@Staghoj
@Vaughters hi Jonathan. I did the interview with weltz today. What do you mean with this tweet about talking to weltz?

40m Jonathan Vaughters ‏@Vaughters
@Staghoj His boss has made it clear to him he needs to be honest. If he does that, i have no problem with his past. If he lies, big problem.

Jeebus! Weltz just does not seem to be able to tell the truth. I wonder if he has ever considered a career in politics.

It is called being transparent Jonathan. That is what 'clean' teams do, dont you remember?

I think what Benotti meant is that Weltz should have been more open about what he did at Postal before this week.

Of course now is a good time to confess to any Postal related activity and 5 years ago it probably wasn't.

Confess as in talk to the relevant people.

Err, he's saying Weltz wasn't transparent in his interview. Read all the relevant tweets for context.

I have not read JV or Weltz confirm that Weltz talked to USADA/WADA.

Have you?

damage control by vaughters.
denials such as Weltz's can only be interpreted in one way: they're still doing it.
the sooner weltz admits, the better garmin will be able to spin out of this.
vaughters is very aware that the tides are turning.
soon, those who continue to deny the obvious will be taking more heat and bad press than those who admit.
