No. The subject was Gilberts giant strides later in his career. I commented that I believe Gilbert did make unusual leaps later in his career.

That is my opinion. I never said it was suspicious. Would there be anyway I could make that comment without you thinking that I am accusing him?

Yeah, by leaving the word weird out.

I do think its weird. That doesn't mean its suspicious. I am not one to bring clinic matters into this section of the forum.

Also weird means odd, stragnge. There is nothing odd about riders who dope. In fact it might be a very large number, so I don't see an odd development is necessary suspicious, especially considering that many caught dopers are good from a very young age.

2011 was a great season.

But there was something missing.

January 1st, it comes back

The most eagerly anticipated return in cycling history.

Alejandro "Piti" "El Imbatido" "El Bala" "Balaverde" Valverde.

Coming to the races you love this January.

He's another Vino in my book. A racer you love to watch who leaves it all out on the course. I'm glad to see his return.

Does anyone think the UCI is overstepping their boundaries by not allowing Valverde to appear at the presentation; citing his suspension? I thought they could only ban you from racing. They are really getting to a quasi-government level where sport governing bodies have no business.

How is Valverde like Vino? They're pretty much the opposite of each other as far as racing mentality goes.

Their greatest truimphs are 1 Vuelta and 2 LBLs.

They go for the win every race they enter.

That still doesn't explain the fanboyism here for him. He's quite boring as a cyclist. And even in stage racing he results to wheelsucking a lot. The fact you use the same examples every time to explain Valverde is not a wheelsucker doesn't really help either :p (you've made this post a few times before).

It's quiet simple - Alejandro is a beautiful Spanish man, while you prefered to fall in love with an akne-kid and a gasing vegetarian with a chin that will never stop growing.

Valverde means beauty and style. Attacking is sidenote. It's all about looking good and winning.
Great riders like valverde don't even need to attack to win.

Anyway, looking forward to coming season (again).
Pistolman bashing and wishing crashes to everyone except his idols, and the ditch promoting Valverde and that first GT he ever saw.

Talk about being pathetic.

For the record, I'm straight, so I could care less how a male cyclist looks like. Valverde means Cavendish in the hilly classics.

You sure have some skeletons in your closet.

Valverde is a wheelsucker that relies on his sprint. Vinokourov is an attacker pur sang that can't rely on his sprint as evidenced in the way he won his 2 LBLs. Compare that to how Valverde won and you see how different these guys are. I really don't find them similar at all.

Yeah those are the differences.

And I showed you what their similarities are.

But he's not another Vino, you know that. Otherwise you might as well call him another Contador or any other cyclist that always goes for the win.

Their racing style is radically different which is the most important thing in cycling.

Surprised no one else has started this one. Only abiding :D

The thread dedicated to Valverde's return, predictions, expectations, well wishing, goals, form, mental state, latest headlines, photo-ops, and of course Wins!

Those seeking to hate, troll, go tangential to another rider even comparisons, BUZZ OFF!

Well that's a poll and more on what will happen on his return, this is more for just his return and up and coming things. Didn't want to take away from the poll and past discussion on the "past". This is more of a moving forward thread, ban all done type of thing, clean slate, fresh start, no looking back ;)

Its called the "Valverde comeback thread", its not a poll but a thread that has a poll as an addition, and the poll speculates as to what he will do next year.

The whole thread is looking to the future and rejoicing at his comeback. Absolutely no "looking to the past".

You have been DAOTEC'd.
Accept it and down with this nonsense.;)

He had a great battle here the last time with evans and luis leon sanchez on the descent of willunga hill. This time i have a feeling he could go again as the finish on top of willunga will suit him.

I am fascinated to see what him can do in fleche wallonne, amstel gold and LBL.

He'll struggle at TDU. First race back from a 1.5 year ban will be hard.
