As a result I'm watching NCAAFB DI-FCS football championship: ND State Bison vs Sam Houston State Bearcats. Interesting huh![]()

Vancouver will win the Cup in the next 2 or 3 years ... they have a great squad and they are due.
There was a Stanley Cup thread but not a general NHL thread as I remember
pedaling squares said:Marchand got five games for that stunt. Shanahan sent a stronger message than I thought. Shanahan's explanation for the suspension makes it pretty clear that the league thought this was a predatory act, not a case of self-defence. I wonder if Marchand would even think of pulling that stunt if he didn't have Chara, Thornton, Lucic, McQuaid, et al on his team.
Mods, this thread is probably best merged into the hockey thread as the game is over but there is still stuff to discuss.
Bettman would pull out all the stops before allowing a team to leave that market. The league would own the team if they had to. But it looks like that is a long shot, seems like the owner has cash flow problems but it doesn't (yet) look serious enough to threaten the franchise.VeloCity said:Didn't see this one coming:

All the talk of relocation revolves around the Coyotes but could it be that the Devils are the next team to move?
What an idiot. An event like that has nothing to do with politics until morons like him decide to turn it into something political.pedaling squares said:Today, the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins were honoured at the White House and playoff MVP Tim Thomas declined the invitation. He says it wasn't political while stating rationale for his non-attendance based on politics. I think this is a shoddy move. The Head of State of your team's nation invites you to a celebration of your victory, and you snub him. A poor way to represent your organization.
EDIT: Funny note, he's the only American on the team. Ha!
