Vingo will be ready. but if I really have to choose between Rogla and Pog winning the Tour well be it Rogla, at least there'll be some change

I expect Rog to start slowly. He'll try to peak in the third week as per usual these days. So I wouldn't be surprised if Ayuso has pink for quite a while and I won't hit the omg I'm panicking button either if and when Rog loses time (let's say the ITT's and intermediate sprints, for example).

Except for the Tour last year he has good starts. Last year in Vuelta he was forced to attack because of BOC but that's not his style. He can lend the jersey to some breakaway dude but not taking some advantage early would be stupid. ITTs and short ramps where he can gain time are at the start. This Giro doesn't have an Ancares stage where he can suddenly peak and take minutes on unipuertos, there are lots of shallow climbs at the end so drafting could be important.

Hindley would've gotten 2nd in the 2023 Tour if not for his crash. Having said that he's nowhere near Roglics level and having mythical form every 3 years for like one week isn't a great reason to put him anywhere near a pre race favorite.
I think Adam Yates goes under the radar, so far he has always shown to be in excellent form for UAE in a GT and his lack of results this season might be misleading.

Would of, could of, should of... In all reality we don't know where he would've finished up. All we can go by is what he has done since then.

Depends a bit on the form of WVA. If he's in really good form, I would expect he wears it the first week

Hindley wouldn't have finished second in the 2023 TDF. He was far inferior. Claiming otherwise based on assumptions isn't realistic.

One thought I just had is that this route is really good for a gc scenario like in the TdF 2019, where a good allrounder could carry the leaders jersey deep into the third week. If Van Aert is at his best and finds his climbing legs, he might get over stage 7 leading the gc and see nothing but stages that suit him until the third week. Of course that's a big if but I think someone who is not a climber being very high up in gc, going into the third week, could be a big talking point during the race.

Think it's more likely to be a climber type taking it in a bunch of breakaways.

Add in that Roglic is allergic to leaders jerseys in GTs in the first week.

Pretty sure I voted Geraint Thomas for the 2023 Giro or something stupid.
