If I think with my head: Roglic, with Ayuso second favourite.

If I think with my heart: EGANITO BABY!!!

Either way, I don't want UAE to win so I'm rooting against Ayuso and Yates even though I like them both as riders.

CyclistAbi's mindset is contagious, it seems!

Attack is way too long range though, basically 5 weeks out

I just hope that people voting do understand Rogla doesn't intend to act on it, that is until deep into week 3.

Yep. For that, we'd have to make a poll about likelihood:

Would be interesting to see if Rogla would do equal or better in such poll compared to Pogi did or if people voting would underrate him.

My final pre-race ranking:

* * * * * - Roglič
* * * * - A. Yates, Gee
* * * - Tiberi, Ayuso, Landa
* * - Carapaz, S. Yates, Bernal, Ciccone
* - Hindley, Fortunato, Storer, Del Toro, Arensman

I'll have a go:

* * * * * - Roglič
* * * * - Ayuso
* * * - Hindley, A. Yates, Gee, Tiberi, Ayuso, Landa
* * - Carapaz, S. Yates, Bernal, Ciccone
* - Fortunato, Storer, Del Toro, Arensman

Hindley 2 stars too low...
On this course, I’d rate Daniel F Martinez more a threat for victory than Hindley.

Conceding that the only way either wins if Roglic crashes out, I actually rate Martinez higher than any other contenders outside of Ayuso and maybe Adam Yates. Martinez can time trial. Most other second and third tier contenders cannot, and the ones that can (Tiberi and Gee) are not as reliable in the mountains as Martinez.

TBH it's not a bad career strategy to be the second best GC rider on Roglic's team. If he crashes out, you have a pretty good team at your disposal, whereas if you're Storer there's no possible way you have a super team working for you.

Tbf, Brenner and Storck + Voisard and Warbasse isn't the worst support in the mountains. Red Bull and UAE will do the heavy lifiting and besides them only Bahrain has a really strong team for the mountains.

I struggle to understand all this faith in Ciccone, not just here but on various media outlets too. I love him but he has zero GT top10 in his career.
I agree. Ciccone has been talked up since Richie Porte was a teammate. Porte delivered a TdF podium before retiring. Ciccone is 30 now and there is still time but I think its safe to say Ciccone won't reach that level. His best grand tour result was 11th at last year's Tour. Seems best at securing breakaway wins when he isn't a marked rider.

All the Danish experts and commentators are definitely in agreement...
Well... almost all, except for the somewhat biased guy.

Very happy that I back in March included Bernal in the pre-race poll as the 9th option. The big question mark is the third week though.
