It's easy to forget Pogacar won a monument by a different tacitc than just powering away from everyone 50k from the finish, not too long ago. That was actually a really nice tactical win.
It's pretty obvious he also just was the best rider in the race. Everyone was gassed on the top of Ganda with 30km left to race. G2 syndrome wasn't even that bad and he just held 50s the entire way and didn't really lose time up and down the final hill either. It's easy to forget Pogacar won a monument by a different tacitc than just powering away from everyone 50k from the finish, not too long ago. Selvino in, Ganda out is confirmed.
Got to love an RCS last minute route changeSelvino in, Ganda out is confirmed.
Also, due to risks of flooding in Como the finish line will be moved from Lungo Lario Trento to viale Felice Cavallotti
In fairness little that can be done here- the weather has dealt this hand
Sure, he was the strongest, but it was at a level where a win was never guaranteed. If he had arrived in the valley in a big group it would have been very hard to convince the rest to collaborate on the flat so he could make another attack on the final hill. I'd much rather see that kind of race again than another utterly dominant soloIt's pretty obvious he also just was the best rider in the race. Where did you read he's not riding? No Healy? Is he sick?
Wonder what's gone on there, he looked like a reasonable podium contender.Ineos: Hayter, Arensman, Swift x2, Castroviejo, Rivera, Turner.
No Pidcock.
He is now, first they had 6 riders, than Carapaz stood in the list as number 7 and now it has Healy as the 7th riderWhere did you read he's not riding?
He's in the official startlist.
Shows that Emilia was a really hard race and the bad/cold weather may have set down the immune system for many riders. Been bad weather all week with riders making their preparations and a few of them was in Tre Valli as well.Pidcock was in good shape and looking forward to Lombardia but he was deselected with the turbulent end of his season. Probably with the transfer rumours. Don’t know why teams do this when riders are still under contract.
Bagioli is sick, also DNS.
