I wish for miracle and Sagan getting this one. We would have a rare chance to see Sagan in China desperatly trying to defend his position in GC against Purito. Stage 4 could be a lot of fun :)

I know he has no chance but I would like to see it. This time no "only sprinter" excuses.

No way Valverde. His reputation is dirt right now. The peloton will not allow it. The Spanish fans will not accept it. He will ensure he doesn't win this race. He knows the game. This is not his race. If Hinault were still le patron, he would tell him to f*** off and bring some bottles and Valverde would have to obey.

I wouldn't say the Italian fans would be all that pleased to see Valverde take the win either.

According to Martinelli, Nibali still has injuries from his crashes at the Worlds. Could be that he is to injured to perform on top level, because after a crash is it possible that you don't feel pain due to the adrenaline, but that the pain is starting to show up after a couple of days.

This might be confirmation his 2014 schedule will only include ASO events.

that's doable

Qatar, Oman, Paris-Nice, Criterium Int., Flèche, Liege, Tenerife as usual, Dauphinée, Tour

that's more than enough for him and SKY

he might attempt tour-vuelta by racing less early on next year

That was three decades ago. Valverde and other Movistar riders will only be taking orders from one person, the DS. lol, just checked who that might be and there's five of them. Unpopular or not Valverde will be all out ftw or to help a teammate, maybe Quintana.

its the same reason why Mollema didn't start. Knee injury from worlds, at the race he didn't feel it and finished 11th

Anyhow, I think Nibali still will do pretty well because he's so motivated
