Jens what are you expectations for he time trial? As he isn't in the running for GC he might as well just soft pedal and instead test himself against the GC guys in the high mountains, possibly taking the stages?

Greatest comeback ever- Zakarin wins the Giro in the snowy mountains under terrible conditions due to his conditioning in Siberia

Now that Porte is out of the ITT fight(i'm not sure he'll even start tomorrow because he's injured),Zakarin has only one man to stop him winning the ITT:Uran.Of course if the great Ilnur will bother,i hope he will :D

I dont know his motivation for tomorrow, He is not in the overal, and it is a long effort after to win yesterday...and he has not the necessay experience that tomorrow ITT need,

But by the contrary he has nothing to lose, and with the rain he is very powerfull.and maybe today he rest enough.

Yes, same town as Kamaz' rugged mountain trucks are built. Seems appropriate.

By its widest definition, Kochetkov and Tsatevich could be considered as they're both from Sverdlovsk Oblast', but by a more strict geographical definition Egor Silin is the only current Катюша rider from Siberia, being from Tyumen' Oblast'. None are from the Siberian Federal District.

Good insight there.

Mediocre today 65 place, seems that this stage wasn't on his schedule, still enough time to grab one more stage win.

Pretty sure I saw him at about 14th at the first checkpoint when it was flipping through the riders as the GC guys were going past. Perhaps he gave it a go but gave up halfway. I don't know if that's a good or a bad sign as considering all the big boys did terrible at the first check maybe he got put off too early and could've done a good time. Or maybe he knew he wasn't feeling that good.

Zakarin. Wobbles in the TT 5 minutes down, sits way back in GC bus over an hour down, and is nowhere in Pts or Mtn classifications. Leads the competition for most over-hyped. Just close this thread and make space for any of the real riders in top 15.

It's his first GT and he did win a stage, if he would rather target tomorrow's stage for example he may as well ignore this ITT. His team said this was a learning experience for him and if he had a chance for any stages that he will try, that's it.

He should stick to the Pink jersey group to know his real capabilities against Aru if he wants to be a future GT contender.

He's going to make the Pais Vasco-Romandie-Giro triple with ease, glad that he won against track specialist.

It was funny to see how he hardly could control his bike at the finish.

Not a fan of Grande Ilnur, but could be fun if he can translate his 1 week performances into Il Giro
