This is exactly what I wrote.

Then why did you argue with me, when it's also exactly what I wrote? But I do acknowledge that the original poster that had quoted the NYTimes article as fact was not you, but Epicycle, and perhaps I should have responded to him not you.

Nevertheless, you aren't saying exactly the same thing.

In the message you just quoted you said "was installed with his guidance.". But he installed it 100% entirely by himself. Did he guide himself?

You also wrote "A person named Arnie was found to have looked through many of the documents on the LNDD servers. This is not surprising as I would not expect Quiros to know what to look for."

You are not correctly remembering or interpreting what happened. The name "Arnie" appeared as an editor of a file or files which were sent out by email under the name Norman Crepin. There was no sign of Arnie on LNDD servers. And the french article I linked to explained how Quiros knew what to look for: he was provided with a list of keywords by the customer.

Who is Alain Quiros?

He's a hacker who at the time lived in France, one of several implicated in the LNDD breakin as a job for hire. Quiros was paid 2000 Euros, and more money must have gone to the others.

The time will come when the ASO will formally apologize, on behalf of the AFLD,
and return Floyd's Name as the "Official" and Rightful winner of the 2006 TdF:)

ps...some others have some apologizing to do too?

Even if we believe that Floyd is innocent and got a raw deal, this is a pipe dream. Siht happens, and sometimes things just can't be fixed.

Sure we just need to find an appropriate time for the apology, how do you feel about the 1st of April?

...great idea - and the ceremony could be held for him in Paris - all he has to do is turn up ;)

I think you would have to ask Arnie about the installation.

It has been reported that Arnie, or someone using his ip address, sent an email from the LNDD server with modified information in an effort to discredit the lab. There were language errors in the emails that pointed to them being written by a non native French speaker, something Quiros is.

USADA witness Joe Papp admits conspiracy to sell EPO, HGH

by VeloNews.com |* February 17, 2010 "Papp at the Landis hearing in 2007"

Former pro Joe Papp has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute performance enhancing drugs, including EPO, during the same period when he was testifying for the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency against Floyd Landis at Landis’ 2007 arbitration hearing.

In 2007, Papp was suspended from competition for two years after testing positive for synthetic testosterone following a race in Turkey.

At the Landis hearing, he testified that doping was widely used among cyclists and that synthetic testosterone can help athletes recover quicker from competition.

According to the Associated Press, Papp pleaded guilty in a Pennsylvania federal court to conspiracy to sell HGH and EPO over the internet. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark McKeen Houghton told the AP that Papp earned more than $80,000 selling the drugs to 187 customers, including cyclists and other athletes. The customers were not named.

Please check back soon for more on this story.

What a guy, that Floyd. What a guy.

I wonder what's he's really angry about? The hypocrisy?

I think he's angry because he genuinely doesn't understand why bad stuff keeps happening to him and can't understand how he brings it upon himself through his own poor decisions. My guess anyway.

I thought Landis was from the school "blame no one for your problems". Doing a heck of alot in the self-pity stakes for mine.

:D Brilliant. Now THAT is what twitter was created for!

p.s. Praise be for re-tweets, you can never fully remove a tweet from the system!

I'm wondering whether Floyd lost his mind and actually sent those tweets, or if his twitter account was hacked (which would be ironic).

I'm not sure. If I hacked his account I'd say something more like "hey @lancearmstrong when are you going to admit to all that dope we did on USPS?"

That would be worth hacking it for!

I think Michael Ball picked up Floyd's blackberry when he wasn't looking and tweeted for him:

MB: hey Floyd check out my new butter churn ....
FL: Sweeeeeet where?
MB: Over there. Look. (grabs the phone - tweet-tweet-tweet)

HA!

Michael Ball is a convicted felon and a fudge packer, so your thinking on the possibility of him picking up Floyd's blackberry would be spot on.

Where does this claim come from?

Race Radio said:
Not exactly. It has been about a year.

Arnie sent out the hacked documents to various media sources back in 2007 but at the time this was all the evidence the French police had. It was only last year when the French Police arrested a hacker for hacking into the Greenpeace computers and found that he had been paid by Arnie as well. A summons was issued for Arnie and Floyd, but they ignored it, so now an arrest warrant has been issued.

Source for the claim that Baker was involved in paying Quiros/Kargus, please?
I have only heard the first part, that Baker emailed the documents out later.

thanks,
-dB
