Hmmm. Whether conspiracy theory or not, that is the first thing that has made any sense of the Anderson situation.

Dave.

What other explanation is there? People have turned State's evidence on narcotics cartels for a roll of Smarties.

And for anybody worried about whether Novitzky will "win" against Bonds, he's already won. The consequence for not rolling on the supply chain is bankruptcy by legal bill. Yet another object lesson for those awaiting their turn at the witch trial...

I dunno. Canseco is starting to look pretty good on Celebrity Apprentice.

Both are in the spotlight. But, I would take the risk of getting fired by the Donald over going to jail.

Dave.

Dear Mr.Purdy, stick to paint brushes. If the first day was any indication your desperate cries for Anderson or anybody else will go unheard. If the start is a good sample wow!! Guy made a tape to blackmail Barry to his dad..good start. The witness said that the court stenographer mistyped his statement(s). Anderson's absence will only get to the truth faster not slower. The ESPN twitter link for Mark Fainaru is great

I realize that any smart jury would do the proper thing and put me on ignore.
I do want to hear what Novizky says though.

You're really going to hate what happens to a "Certain Lance Armstrong", then. Lance's media-*****dom and charity plundering provide a large profile for Novitsky. It also provides an international tie if the cooperation with other Euro agencies have borne fruit.
Just turn off the computer and tv...

Being from San Francisco, I agree with Art Spander, the Bonds trial is an incredible waste of money and energy.
We are in monetary deficit right now, double digit employment, two wars fought at the same time, and the Giants just won the series. Furthermore, this trial will not slow down PED use, nail the mob, nor set a good example for our young people. A no win situation.

The truth is always priceless.

Can you handle the truth?

Was Anderson in on this "Blackmail"? He is on tape talking about doping Bonds often and the various challenges the multiple injections caused.

Of course the defense will try to spin this as part some grand conspiracy involving space aliens and Nazi frogmen but it does not change the fact that that Anderson admitting doping Bonds on tape. The jury will likely see the defense's spin as desperation and just listen to the tape.

Anyone who has an interest in the story needs to read Game of Shadows. Fabulous read. And yes I hope he goes down. I hope he gets everything coming to him.

I particularly liked how they liberally sprinkled the pharse, "drug cheat," throughout the book.

No moral ambiguity which I greatly appreciated.

Neither Bonds nor Armstrong have at their disposal the financial resources to spend on their defense what the government is spending on the prosecution. They can make it a little more balanced than the average defendant can, but they are still at a disadvantage against the might of the United States Government.

"We the People......."

The People of the United States of America v. Bonds.. Armstrong..whoever..

Are you suggesting that the amount spent is going to affect the finding of fact or will alter those facts?

If you don't realize it already, Barry Bonds is as guilty as sin.

The sole reason for this expenditure is Bonds. If he did not lie to the government, there would be no case. If Bonds did not lie and hire a bunch of lawyers to drag out the case as much as possible there would be no discussion of cost.

Noviztky and others interviewed multiple BALCO customers, they were told they were not targets....unless they chose to lie. Bonds chose to lie.

no he is probably not in on it. Lawyer asked witness why he made the atpe. Explanation, to give to Bobby Bonds. Asked why he didn't Bobby got too sick, fast and he felt the tape would harm his health further. the lawyer also asked if he planned to blackmail Bonds with the tape, no,standard answer. He also made small changes instead of saying he saw the needle in Barry's rear meat he said he saw Anderson with the needles in his hand. Hoskins was a good witness for Bonds

Regardless of how the defense tries to spin his motivation for making the tape the content of the tape is very damaging to Bonds.

We have seen this before. Anyone who testifies is a bitter/jealous/hater/blackmailer......none of this changes the content of the tape, it is just spin.

I agree, Bonds was/has been/ will continue/ to lie.
The good thing about the trial is Balco was shuddered.
Bonds was an awesome athlete, juiced, unjuiced etc. However if you study the WIKIPEDIA of Manny Ramirez, in 2003 104 other MLB players also tested positive for steroids. I think Bonds was an active player at that time. Those are only the MLB players who were caught. There were no penalties for those players and no doubt they continued juicing into retirement. Again, my arguement for Bonds, Lance, even Ricco(Choke!) is pro athletes are doped. Even playing field level, dopers all!

At this point the federal case is a waste of money. I only feel sorry for Hank Aaron whom I consider the real home run king, Bobby Bonds RIP and anyone who trusted
Bonds.

The Feds have an overwhelming amount of evidence that Barry Bonds used HGH, Steroids, etc etc etc..

Smoking guns galore.

And it is obvious that Barry KNEW he was doping to the gills lol.

All that said though, there is still a chance that Mr Bonds will get off.
The Defense is doing a good job so far. Probably winning so far.

If the Feds have trouble getting Bonds convicted given all the evidence, they may lack confidence going after a much more popular public figure like Lance.

Wonder if Lance is considering hiring this Ruby guy for his defense.
Does a great job cross-examining the Gov witnessess...

Even playing field?

Simple question to you. Why do you keep submitting posts you know aren't true?

What's your angle?

Go down to your local batting cage, turn the pitching machine up to 95MPH, take out your favorite EASTON bat, wearing your NIKE's, juice to the gills and tell me what field juicing exactly is going to let you watch the ball revolve.

These guys are incredible, I guarantee you very few can see a ball spin at 100MPH,and even touch it with a bat.

They are awesome athletes.

Huh? Are you advocating hGH so they can see the ball better? Bonds loved that effect.

While they might be awesome atheletes the game is about hitting the ball. When you see Bonds or McGuire jack a ball out of the park using their wrists alone you are not seeing the game. Moreover, Congress protects this particular game with concessions to it's monopolistic business model. They are equally obligated to police it on behalf of the citizens.
I suppose if someone shot a family member and it cost $1mil to find and prosecute the perpertrator you'd consider that money poorly spent? This and Lance's trial is about illegal drug distribution and Barry would be fine if he hadn't lied...to protect his money.

I was over in Pebble Beach a couple of years ago and watched Arnold Palmer and Jack Nichols drive a couple balls, a lot of it is technique.
I agree those Oakland As McGuire and Conseco were outragous with their doping. Since I am a Giants fan I have to say Bonds was a natural champion, a genetic freak and well disciplined and coached.Puro.

I thought these players, golf and baseball got their power from their buttocks mainly. If they were snapping balls out of the park with their wrists, I thought it would cause physical damage.
