So... I can't disagree with you as this is a distinct-- if not strong-- possibility. It's fairly well-known in the peloton that "Aitor gets what Aitor wants". As members and fans of the sport, we have to take ourselves back to the original question: is the uncontestable can of aerobic whoopass that Aitor Gonzalez is about to open on the roads of France good for cycling?

So, he's got the old 2002 form back, huh? That was one hell of a TT he rode to win the Vuelta.

to say he "has his 2002 form back" i believe is a dangerous understatement. it's fairly well known that most spaniards don't hit their stage-racing-peak until somewheres around july 3rd of their 35th year. look, that's not my opinion, that's science fact.

sorry, not sure why i messed around with edits.

re: the "FU". i think that you're right to some extent. there was never a way for them to send a team that was great, good, reasonably good, respectable, or even competent, but when you drop your only rider with tour experience less than a week before a race... that's got to be a concerted effort by team management to use it's guaranteed invite to field the suckiest possible team. a team CANNOT be this bad on accident.
+1.

This Protour is a joke.

Why do you say that they have 9 nobodies in its Tour line-up when it's completely false? Why do you joke about his lack of results without knowing its 2010 palmares? And I have to take you seriously and not Footon-Servetto team?

OK, let's see this thread as a funny one. Of course is better a humurous style in the forum than only an analytic point of view, but please, without lies.

This thread seems to have long departed from the original Footon topic as people try to score petty points from each other.

But back to Footon. Look out for Eros Capecchi - he's a real talent. He could make a good challenge for the Polka Dots if he goes for it.

But you are forgetting the possibility that the peloton may not have a choice in the matter. Aitor is obviously so strong that he will be able to take off and no one will be able to follow.

Susan

Susan with some humour?!!!! - Keep it up!

Seriously, I think Cardoso will win the Spa stage. He is valverde type ride in the sense he can climb and has a strong kick finish.

????The original topic was a yak meant to be funny. You took it seriously? I would suggest that discussing the topic of the thread seriously is a departure from the original topic. Seriously...or maybe you are trying to be super secret funny by trying to be serious?

Footon-Servetto is a terrible team with a joke of a TdF roster. Not a lie. Promise.

Wait a sec, didn't you start the thread indicating that every rider on the team was unbeaten in the TdF?

this thread has taken a number of twists and turns in and out of reality. Footon is a horrible joke of a team that will almost certainly dominate every single stage in july. clear enough?

I'll admit that at first I dismissed your comment out of hand. The notion that Footon wouldn't nab the "mellow johnny" at the earliest possible opportunity seemed laughable to me, quite honestly. Bet now I see your point: the only color in the peloton more beautiful than Credit Lyonnais Yellow is Footon-Servetto Brown.

If they win a stage I'm gonna buy myself the Full team kit. :D

At least you will be the only one in a club ride with one

Or are you going to buy it to "use in the bedroom"

Come on, guys! So many of you tend to be very astute observers in your posts, but have you all gone blind when it comes to Footon?

They clearly have a plan of attack, and it's going to work. It's called:

"THE LANTERNE ROUGE"

They do have an Italian Merlot.

freaking hilarious, this and the whole damn thread (even, no ESPECIALLY the few confused souls who think Footon don't have every jersey already under lock and key - Footon are plainly hating that the TTT isn't included and they won't have that chance to show their supreme dominance - as stated, their no doubt planned use of the "Mapei" formation will be their protest this year.)

But don't forget, just like the ginsu knife "there's more!", as the severe road annihilation (not to mention camo poo-brown uniforms) that Footon bring will yield massive results in the Vuelta this year, whilst utterly unwatchable riders such as Jani "yes I can climb and TT" Brajkovič, Chris "check my stylish yellow shoes" Horner, and Levi "I have to shave my head or people might think I'm Lance" Leipheimer will remain stuck in wind-tunnel testing where they all belong, with their dear spanish climbing friends Chechu and Haimar teaching them how to play the smallest violin in the world.

Footnote: Manuel's uphill win at the TdU this year was kind of cool, especially when the commentators noted why he'd been so motivated to get his national road title jersey this year. :D

Wow, Jim Beam has already been dropped from the roster according to Wiki. I guess not making the Tour team must have really affected him. Being excluded would land many a rider on the rocks, so I am guessing that he is straight up pi$$ed.

Well played sir.

I will have to put that in my signature.

The fat, old, and slow nerds on this forum don't get paid to make a corporation "look good" by parading around on the peloton's worst bikes wearing the peloton's worst kit.

As the Kazakh president, responding to the Borat movie, said "all publicity is good publicity"

Lets hope footon sponsors feel the same way.

the peloton's worst kit.

I have been patient but come on, what is wrong with you people!!! This joke started in january, the footon kit is not THAT UGLY!!

End of rant!

Footon's kit is the best in the péloton. It's not stylish like Caisse d'Epargne, Cervélo or Française des Jeux (how nice are their new kits? I mean seriously, even better than the old ones), but what is the kit meant to do? Make you notice them. Make you notice their riders. We can always spot the Footon guys. They're much easier to spot than they would be in the pale blue of last year's Fuji kit. And considering the roster is inexperienced, young and fairly underwhelming, there's something fantastic about their kit - it's got us talking about Footon. Lots.
