with 10 you mean 5? and weight doesn't mean much, see wiggins vs cancellara

The weights listed for Contador and Froome are 62 and 72 kgs, I don't trust those numbers at all but it's all you have.

About time trialling Wiggins/Cancellara now seem to be on the same level, which only shows why Cancellara is a way worse climber. Wiggins has the same power, with about ten kgs less to haul over the mountains. Though position and efficiency are a key factor too. Some riders have a lot of power which all goes to waste, just because they can't get their position right. Froome could still get closer to Wiggins imo, if he can get a better aero position.

"IF" hes fit !!! i consider andy schleck far more of a threat than froome . and i reckon AC thinks the same .

No. Schleck, Pinot and Quintana I would say.

The latter two because I believe they have the potential to match Contador.
I don't personally believe they will manage it but they can. Schleck is Schleck and he certainly can, once again will he? Maybe.. maybe not.
Froome is the only one which may have the ability to take on Contador who you would be confident will be on a level close to Contador's by the time July swings around.

Oh deary me. Get your Sky crusts out your eyes kid.

What makes you neglect Sky chances so branzenly? You are against new faces on top or what?

Ummm...care to explain how you think Pinot/Quintana/Schleck are more likely to challenge Contador than Froome?

We, and by this I mean the spectating public, are yet to see the full extent of Froome's capabilities. In fairness, so is Froome.

Make no mistake, Froome will be the de facto leader of Sky come July, regardless of what may appear in the press, provided that Contador shows up to ride. Wiggins made the most of his opportunities in 2012, but it will take an exceptional GT talent to unseat Contador, and Froome is probably the only rider with a chance at this.

Contador rarely drops the ball. Can Froome keep his nerve?

It's going to be great :)

What if Wiggins survives the mountains to stage 11 then takes the yellow jersey in the first ITT. Surely Sky will defend the jersey for Wiggins a la Sky train?

The fact remains: in the Tour Froome showed a TT level Contador can't dream of. Very likely, Contador will have to lose the ground in time trials.

how many itt wins does froome have?

First of all, I don't think Contador has that time trial-level still. No doubt he's a great tt-ist at the end of a GT, but I would also rate Froome higher honestly.

I don't think so either, but aristream again came with hilarious claims. just read the bolded part I responded to

Agreed. Plus I think Contador showed in the Vuelta that he's still ITT'ing very well and we must not forget he was beating Millar in 2011 before he eased up.

I can't really separate them on the flat although I lean Froome maybe just. I probably give Contador the advantage in the mountainous one based on technical ability. In any case I think the difference between them in total TT will be <30".

According to his own website he's 69 kgs, it's still a significant difference with Contador.

but like I said it's meaningless weight. especially if you factor in height as well which is disadvantage in itt. so in bmi way contador has more bulk than froome

that's funny. I had this exact same argument with you last year and when i showed you that tt you said you had forgotten about it.

So you conveniently keep forgetting all the races contador does well.in?.no wonder you think he is crap.

No, I just was being ironic. We (me and you) discussed that TT numerous times.

Of course it does, that was year later.

oh the usual " let's post the results of the last itt of the 2010 and "forget" to mention the massive wind changes and see if it sticks"

hadn't been done in a while. . . . contador's peformance that day wasn't great but it wasn't as bad as the final results make it look.

only menchov did great that day from the GC guys and he still finished 4 minutes down

However the result of 09 TT is posted with no lesser enthusiasm, isn't it?

No, no... We should stick to the 2009 one and be sure that's it.
Maybe "the massive wind changes" happen again. Maybe some riders do better in the wind.
Since they don't ride in vacuum, under ideal (and same) conditions for every rider, it's fair to be mentioned.
Also, that year Contador was just slightly better than some notably awful time trialers who rode in the same conditions.
Superior, as well as bad, time trials aren't the rule in Contador's case. More like exception.

Good grief, Airstream moulding arguements around what he can win!!!

2010 Bordeaux to Paulliac......... The contenders for the race rode into a very strong headwind that had developed during the day, early riders pushing into a 5mph wind the contenders 15 - 20mph....THAT was the significant feature of that Time Trial, nothing else!!
