No, there are enough reasons to doubt him. I won't go over those again, but it's more than just being suspicious for the sake of it.

Is he the Mayo to someone else's Armstrong? Did other teams cry foul and did Gilbert get a warning?“Not winning is more the fault of the other teams than of myself,” he told Het Nieuwsblad. “They no longer let me ride like I did last year.”
Make that triple lol. It is the other's teams fault he hasn't got last years punches like on Amstel - Huy - Liege? I'm starting to think the Dutch 'journalist' was right and he did get a BP warning.ChrisE said:LOL.![]()

That is all you needed to know.

Seriously, one or a mix of the following has occurred:
1. BP Warning, which may have contributed to #2 below
2. Off the juice (or way less)
3. Other teams have found better prep (I seriously doubt this)
4. Off season screw up with the juice, leading to season long 'issues'
Lanark said:Story in NRC today says multiple (ex) Lotto riders say that Gilbert often rode on false TUE for cortisones, provided by team docter Jan Mathieu (who prides himself for the victories of Gilbert). The (anonymous) riders say they used cortisones as well at Lotto.
Thomas Dekker is a likely source, because he already admitted he used cortisones at Lotto on 2008 with a false TUE.

He says he is 'surpressed'. 'I have practiced my profession serious and in the best possible way. Both before and after I raced with Lotto I have won big races, most of them in a similar (what is said to be 'typical' for me) way. I hope that says enough'
Translation done by me, but in the original Dutch is just as vague and ambigious.
