Ferarri is as stupid as the next criminal. They dont know when to stop and mostly they dont till they are caught, which they think they never will and when you have got off before you might think, phew well that was a warning, but stupid is as stupid does and hence Ferarri in the pooh pooh again and this time the stakes are way higher.

The question is whether Ferrari is as loyal to the Uniballer as Greg Anderson was for Barry Bonds.

well why would he. He is probably worried more about what's gonna happen to him from his PED suppliers in Italy and whether he is being measured up for concrete shoes.

I doubt he'll protect Gunderson. But the politics behind it might have lots to do with what happens. The Italians might prefer he also give up Gunderson to take the world's media attention of the Italians caught with Ferarri's Orange Juice.

Nope, Ferrari is not going to jail for anyone.

There will be a steady stream of info about this in the coming weeks. Ferrari is done. He should start working on his plea deal ASAP

No - when Anderson went to jail for distribution giving up Bonds wasn't on the table as Bonds hadn't done anything illegal at that point.
Also Anderson still needs Bonds for financial security so he is probably more like a Stapleton or Higgins than a Ferrari.

Ferrari will be in big trouble in Italy - he is 58, has a family and his money made. I doubt he will want to spend his retirement in jail.

Funny stuff, Dr M. :)

Even as a complete outsider looking only at the surface, I am convinced that LA should be wearing diapers if he is not already ....
As RR said, Ferrari has his back against the wall and it would seem that Lance is pretty non-essential to him at this point. Any way the doctor can possibly earn some credit by spilling all...'he will sing like a canary'.

gee I love film noir!

Yeah. Lance should be really afraid that the UCI is going to give him a 2 year suspension.

Shall we leave the general Armstrong discussion for an Armstrong thread?

Thanks in advance. I will wait to post further comment until then. And I don't want to spoil the original OP/thread here as this is a fascinating story unto its.f.

Any idea what Ferrari's exposure would be on an Italian doping charge? It is difficult to speculate on the possibility of a plea deal without knowing that.

If I were the Padua prosecutor (if I legally could), I'd be trying hard to get Ferrari to disgorge his ill-gotten loot. Ferrari isn't going to give that up without a fight--at least not until he knows what he's up against. The prosecutor won't deal unless he gets value-and he is under no obligation to share info with Ferrari.

As discussed before, Ferrari's press release is not a good indicator of a desire to turn rat.

There are too many variables in play to make a good guess at this time.

for those who think it will be hard to get money off ferarri, do some research on Valentino Rossi's tax bill and Cipollini's too. They both coughed up very quickly and i imagine Ferarri will too. The people in Italy charged with recovering this sort of thing are very very good at getting it. They are going after fashion house Dolce and Gabbana for 1billion euro that they tried to keep outside of Italy.

Oh i think Ferarri will sing like the proverbial canary.

I hope he sings some Albano. I like Albano. Il Sole. Or Felicità.

(for those who don't know Albano: Albano once sued Michael Jackson for plagiarism. Albano won the case.)

If he's singing, he had better be singing right now, because his value diminishes by the day.

No chance. You want me to sing on Armstrong? Maybe I should name some AC Milan players also Mr. Prime Minister?

Ferrari is the Don. He goes deep. They'll get him as Bunga Bunga man wants to keep Americano Presidente happy but a deal will be done.

The key on Ferrai is his standing in society. He's very well known and respected. He doesn't want his name sullied. That's more important than money.

Bunga Bunga is finito. The 'face' in Italy only works so far. Berlusconi has a minority government and that is on very very shaky ground. Football is the biggest sport in Italy and hugely out weighs cycling in money terms, so Ferarri will not hesitate to give up the cyclists to protect football if he can, but and thats a big BUT if he can as football is definitely not immune. Ask Juventus, Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina who were all charged with match fixing during 2004/2005 season.;)

she nearly was.

Italian corruption has regularly been rooted out in Italian society. So it is not beyond them to hit Ferarri with everything they can. Sports seem to be easy targets compared to the illegal practices of certain mafia. but 2 football clubs were seized last week due to the money laundering.

I bet Ferarri is aging by the day and not due to having his supply of HGH confiscated.

I'm not sure about that. These guys are horny for media attention. They jurk off on seeing their own picture in the newspaper.

well..let's see, oh Dr Ferrari just threatened to sue anyone who says he doped riders..but you think he is going to admit he doped LA. Your logic is about as intelligent as denying 1+1 = 2

threatened? threatening to sue means nothing. Gunderson has been threatening for years and how many times did he? 2? 3? I know he got the Sunday Times to cave into compensation for slander due to it being cost effective rather than court which would cost huge money and papers dont do that anymore.

Anybody who thinks Ferrari ever doped anybody is impossibly naive. The man is smart--and well off. He doesn't have to sell dope. He doesn't have to stick the needle into anybody's belly button. I suspect he is merely giving training advice to riders (who may or may not furnish their own dope). I suspect that maybe we'll learn just what that training advice is in the course of this investigation, and it may or may not be criminal, but I doubt that Ferrari works like Fuentes did.

Ferrari also doesn't appear to be physically close enough to his clients to either sell or administer dope to them.

Anyway, Ferrari is a great coach (maybe a genius). He doesn't need piddly dope sales money when his mere advice can make him wealthy. He's got major cachet.

The "Ferrari's going down" talk is wishful thinking only at this point.
